I'd sell a wide assortment of Otto's merchandise, because you could make quite a bit of platinum and astral shards selling Otto's boxes =)

If you could open a store in Eveningstar, what would you sell, and why?
I would sell cabbages. Why cabbages? Because they are clearly the most valuable thing in the Realms. In the High Road random encounter "Trader Travails", the Trader, under attack by the Fire Reaver Falsifax, voices a very specific concern about the threat posed to his cabbages. He is so concerned about his cabbages, that once you have rescued him and slain Falsifax, he's willing to give you the contents of his treasure chest. These contents can be quite valuable; I've even pulled a +3 to +4 Stat Upgrade Tome from that chest.
Clearly, in the economy of the realms, a cart of cabbages is more valuable than a chest of loot.
Applying the principle of arbitrage, I would open a store in Eveningstar selling Cabbages and stock it with far less expensive cabbages imported from Eberron. I would make out better than a bandit. (After all--no one would be shooting spells or arrows at me, and I wouldn't have to deal with Alpha White Werewolves or Bandit Kings wanting a share of my take!)
On the other hand, it is possible that "cabbage" is slang in the Realms for an expensive and illegal green herb famous for its mind-altering effects. In that case, it would explain a lot about Elminster.

I would sell Kargon's Tasty Hams. There seems to be a ritual where they sacrificed some oxen, and no one likes to celebrate a sacrifice to the gods then with some candied ham!

I would sell bling to adventurers, as they have obviously too much of useful stuff.

I'd open a currency exchange. Astral Shards, Doubloons, etc would be trade-able (because how can you even call them currency if they aren't?!)

I would catch and blow up chipmunks, polish rocks, skin locusts, and grow bitter mushrooms, lilies, and green twigs.
because i am a scam artist and eberron doesn't have any chipmunks ^.^
i might go as far as to chew up some bones, bundle up some sulfur, twist up some metal things, enchant arrowheads, fish scales and chain link to glow and be evil. "im not selling shroud ingredients. im selling worthless junk for really high prices!"

I would put in a dance hall, charge by the hour and employ some high level casters to cast Otto's irresistible dance. People who complained that they couldn't have danced that long because they couldn't dance I would charge them for the dance lessons.

I'd sell kobold cookies, they don't seem to have them there.

I'd sell mead, because judging by how well those mere "peasants" can live with all those monsters around, with CR30+ that are frankly the level of minor deities in traditional PnP, Eveningstar must clearly be a village in Valhalla.

I would sell houses! Then I would have a place to stash all my ****.
In fact, let me start now. There is a nice bridge in the harbor, could use a bit of repair but mostly it is in good shape. Just think of the potential, a nice little toll house maybe? Send me 10,000 pp (I can be a reasonable rogue) and I will tell you that you own it :)

I like the new look, actually. Does doing it this way make it easier or harder than posting in MyDDO?
If I could open a store in Eveningstar, I would sell relics from Eberron. Gotta stay ahead of the competition if you wanna make it big.

It's about the same amount of work. There were a few publishing quirks in my.ddo that people who blogged there were probably aware of as well, and the new site's got a few as well, but for the most part, it's pretty easy. I'm actually hoping to add some content to the Chronicle and shift it's look around to be a bit less of a series of links in the future, but we'll see what time permits.

I would open a bank to compete with House Kundarak. Complete with interest on deposits, semi-reasonable loan rates, and a large variety of storage upgrades.

I guess undead bane clubs, for some reason some extradimensional adventurers are interested into beating dracolich...

The only place to get your exotic magical artifacts from Moonsea and beyond!
Sir, may I interest you with a calendar to keep your dates in order? It holds masterfully painted portraits of Mystra's Chosen to accompany each month. Ah, they do justice to the majestic beauties, Storm, Alassra, even Alustriel!
Or perhaps this magical ring to keep your stomach full even when not having eaten at all! Think of the possibilities of saving silver and time by not eating at all!
Not to forget the ladies. Tired of being ogled by the drunkards at night? Fear no more, with this enchanted girdle you can be sure that they won't be compelled to look towards you again!
If the exotic goods interest you not, this locally produced mirror, right out of Haunted Halls, may be of interest for you. It truly brings out the inner self of whoever gazes into it!
Terms and conditions may apply, the retailer is not responsible by loss of limb, magical mishaps or deaths caused by Manshoon's clones, starvation, gender confusion or murderous doppelgangers. No refunds are offered for the purchased goods, no matter how 'cursed' said items are claimed to be.
TLDR: I would peddle Cursed Items. Because rebuilding the Zhentarim isn't exactly cheap.

I would sell House Dun'Robar bells. Their blades may be rusted, but that bell has been ringing thousands of times per minute for many months and still sounds like the first day.

I would sell guest passes for quests for platinum or astral shards, this would allow charactors without enough turbine points to join their friends or just a nice group. Also weekly guild lottery tickets! Your guild could possibly win one of these winnings, Guild Reknown Boosts, XP Boosts, Slayer Count Boosts, Random End Reward Chest ( only usable once per guild memeber and only once ) and finally a Special Random Ship Buff ( that stays on the ship for the entire week ).
