View Full Version : I think I'm gonna take a break from the forums.

various reasons...
but mostly because of the constant log out issues. :(
I cannot stress that point enough. It becomes extremely frustrating that I either cannot post/rep/edit... go back and look... etc. Or just becomes to frustrating and troublesome to do so.
Also, the population on the forums seemed to have changed at almost the same time as the forums changed.
..... if it makes you feel better... you've won.... at least for now.
Not goodbye, but this Knight is going back into the Shadows for awhile...

If I had something to do with it, I am sorry. Lots of people may seem harsh but it is rarely against someone. What usually happens is that some of us takes time to think about our points before posting then we get people thinking 2secs then repeating someone else's vision with other words trying to counter... No one has to take this personnaly, all this usually means is your trying to communicate with people holding to their points till they die or it is also possible that some are just good at argumenting (because they train everyday... yea we hate those sometimes).
But yea I understand it's not so easy to deal with the attitudes (or just stupidity sometimes let's be real) on an everyday basis. You should maybe just try not to jump in "hot topics" if you feel that someone over the internet has the power to reach and harm you personnaly.
I think i'm one of those people that someone comes harsh and I want you to know that what I am against is the argumentation and not the person itself. So if you jump in a thread with stupidy that you took 2secs to come up with, there is a good chance that you will get answered... but like in real life, a bit of thinking doesn't hurt.
Sorry for the gibberish english, typed that too fast probably.
Take care.

Not you. ;)
Thx though.
A couple names come to mind, but only a couple specific people.
Disappointed that such a large percentage pf posters support those guys though. :(
But... it's not just that.
For one thing took me several tries to log in just now, and then I had to open a new page and figure out how to find thi sthread again..... just to respond to you... :(
Frustrating to want to say something and have to jump through so many hoops to do so.....
But also frustrated to feel like I am ... alone in my opinions....

I hear you Talon, it changed from a pleasure to a chore to get into the forums, and I hate doing chores...:)

I completely agree. I find myself wondering if it is worth the effort to log back in and refresh the page so I can post in a thread. On the other hand, maybe having a few extra seconds to think about whether or not what I want to say is worth the effort is not such a bad thing....

I Just don't come here anymore....used to log in to forums many times a day, now its once a week at the most.
And you know what?
I don't miss it AT ALL.
I don't miss the constant sniping, ill-informed DOOOOOM, the self -righteous opinionated indignation of the type of internet hero who inhabits these dark places, best of all.....
I'm actually PLAYING DDO more, and enjoying it more.
So, leave this place to those who want it, and get on with enjoying your game.
I feel you Talon. I was not going to post this because I would have to log on and try to read what I was writing with the black box, but do not let people upset you.
These forums are full of BS. As you can tell people are a little disgruntled that it seems Turbine does not care anymore. Even the fanboi’s cannot defend that.
You and I also have different opinions of what is fun and what is the “right way to play the game”. I would not worry about that either. Who cares what I have to say? Go play the game you want and have fun in any way that you can.
Do not blame the jaded vets though. You can blame NWO for being that good or you can blame Turbine for turning people this way. I was once like you and liked the dungeon crawl, but Turbine and their decisions made it nicer and easier for me to play the way that I do now. Even when they release news of the expansion I am not sure if everyone will be as receptive.
/off soap box
Post and play in whatever way brings you fun, just do not expect others to be so jolly because they see the writing on the wall.

Being alone in your opinions should be the first sign that you're wrong. I'm sure others will pick up the condescending self-righteousness in your absence.

Because whatever the most people believe is automatically correct? If your opinion is different from the crowd's you are always wrong?
