The Good

Well, I do want to send a thanks out to the devs that gave me my forum handle back. It certainly will keep me nosing around these here parts. It also gives me hope that things do and are getting fixed, eventually.

The Bad

You gave me just enough incentive to check out some other D&D style MMOs during the recent spat of bugs and breaks, including Neverwinter and Wizardry. I don't think either game will "break" DDO, but they are f2p and offer a break in style and substance from the grind of DDO - bad for DDO but perhaps good for me.

The Ugly

While I have patience and understand new processes can take adjustments, the implementation of the new billing system and the forums have been an absolute disaster. From what I have seen, it runs from design, to planning, to implementation. All phases. It is, imo, inexcusable for a company the size and with the resources under the WB umbrella to have gone through the problems which have cropped up over the last six or more months. It seems to be a continuation of the lack of vision I feel DDO has at the moment. Perhaps it is an outcropping of the constant need to derive revenue and DDO's apparent schizophrenic state of trying to figure out to satisfy ViPs while courting f2p players to do just that.

It is my sincere hope that things are getting better around DDO. I am taking the forum fixes as they come along as a sign bugs can get figured out around here. I love the game and I come back to it - even after trying other games.

But, my DDO dev and leadership friends, please step up with better transparency, continued improved and more frequent communication and, above all, a sincere sense of humility when things don't go well. Apologies go a long, long way. I do owe a beer to the whomevers who fixed the forum names. On me next time you are near Chicago or if I hit Boston for a visit.
