wondering if there is a way to tell what "time" it is in the game world. now that a few encounters in King's Forest appear to be tied to "time of day" in game, it would be very helpful to know that other than it looks a bit darker so it must be night :)

In eveningstar and many wilderness areas you can look at the sky and see where the sun/moon is to get an idea of the time.
A second question you didn't ask, and that is how long is a "day"? A day in game time is 2 hours in real time.
