Error 40001

Yeah see this has happened to me 2 times just now. it gets to the connect screen times out then when it goes to the retry it freezes then error 40001. gotta love connection issues :P

I'm not even able to get past the login server

loads the launcher and just stops on connect, eventually get a red x on connect, and retry in 1min...

anyone have any suggestions, it was working, restarted the client and its stopped letting me log in

I was playing, then logged off to get a drink. I come back and can't log in. Well at least now I know it's not just me. I was about to reinstall and all that bs.

It has happened to me on 2 different computers each connected to a different network and isp. Funny thing is, I was connected to the game and logged into one of my toons on Thelanis 4 hours ago. Then logged off to take a break and now can't connect on either computer. I can connect to another game I play, so it is definitely not my internet connection. I wonder if the game and log in servers crashed?

Same for me. Came from work, turn on DDO and...'Client connection failed' after hanging on connect.

After I saw this post I tried launching the game client and saw I had the same issue too, getting hung up on the connect part.

I let it sit a while for retries while browsing the web, after a while I went to close the client but couldn't - had to use task manager.

Re-launched game client, now I'm in game.

Launcher and connection to DDO working perfectly here.

If that can help to solve the issue: My DDO client was downloaded from Steam (but I use the dndlauncher icon to login - I never open DDO from/inside Steam)
