stone of exp

Bit of help needed, trying to use the new stone if exp on my level 8 tr (4 previous lives) my mate who is ftp level 9 is trying to use it on my but keeps getting an error message, anyone else having issues?

Tried to sort in-game with a ticket but told to bug report which dissent help much as the bug report came up with a bug error message.

Did you buy the box yourself and open the box yourself or did someone trade you the stone?

The person that opens the box has to use the stone as I recall.

The person who opens the box has to use the stone. Get the stone back from him and use it on him (have it in a hotbar, target him, and use it on the hot bar). Be careful to use it on a toon that can't use it.

are you trying to have your friend use the stone on YOU? or did you mail it to your friend so that he could use it?

regardless, I think what they have said is correct: the person that opens the otto's box needs to be the person that activates it.

I am not sure about this (since I have not used one), but I think you may also need to be in party formation for it to work. you join the same party, the opener of the ottos box activates the stone of experience from a hotbar, while the other person is targeted.
the other person accepts. not sure if you are using it on yourself, maybe you can double click on it, or maybe you have to have it in hotbar and target yourself before clicking?

I opened the box on his account, and was unable to use the stone after mailing it to my character, and after submitting a ticket and getting pretty prompt attention due to posting directly to Tolero about it, it was discovered that the person using the stone has to be the person that opens the box (though "using the stone" doesn't mean using it on yourself). I was pretty much the original case for this.

how about if you transfer it to another char, can that character (who received the stone via the shared bank) use the stone to bestow the xp to someone else? or does it have to be used by the very exact toon that opened the ottos box?

I would assume probably not. It seems to be tied to the actual character.

Personally, I think it's really best if you just use the box on the character using the stone, or the character who needs the rest (if you're giving the stone up)...but I think everything in the box is BTA anyways (not entirely sure on slayer pots or normal XP pots, as I don't use the first and use the second getting to 20 on the box character...also unsure on the cakes, as I don't make much use of them, and can't log in to check now).
