So, I was just wondering, why are we only allowed 10 free ribbons per account? I have around 15-20 characters that I play actively(ish) here on DDO who I'd love to put the ribbons on.

There's no official answer I can find to your question. Have you checked out any of the other threads on the subject? Lol, make some pop corn and strap in. You're about to get lots of "tin foil hatters" vs "Turbine apologists."

To sum up the summations I've seen put forward thus far: You get 10, free/account, after that you're helping to reimburse Turbine for whatever charitable contributions they may or may not have made.

Again, I offer no facts in the above statement, just offering the tl;dr version of what I've read in other threads so far.

People can be ignored. Also, cordovan has stated that how many ribbons people get has no affect on how much they are donating. Not looking for drama seekers. Just a simple answer. :)

Sad, isn't it? We ask lots of questions on these forums, many of which could receive "simple answers."

Unfortunately, the threads and posts where we "bully," "insult," or in some other way "harass" eachother are more often oficially responded to by Turbine than the ones in which we ask for "simple answers."

I suppose since turbine it's self hasn't spoken up, the easiest/simplest supposition about "why 10 per account" is "because they said so." I highly doubt anyone from turbine will provide hard info about "why 10?" That sort of clarity simply isn't in their track record.

I know, that's why I phrased it as might be "reimbursing" (referring to any ribbons you get beyond the 10 freebies, if you used points you purchased vs. earned) for any contribution they "may or may not have made." Cordovans statement only implies a contribution was made, but to my knowledge, there has been no official statement of "we have made a contribution" which is part of the whole ambiguity issue.
