Each epic past life may be earned only once and all epic past life feats are passive.

A Pure Heart of Wood is required for an epic class past life and a Proud Heart of Wood is required for an epic race past life.

Both Pure Reincarnation and Proud Reincarnation require a character to be at the current maximum character level.

Bonuses based on the number of class past lives earned count both heroic and epic flavors.

Pure Heart of Wood: True Heart + 5 epic raid tokens or True Heart + 2 heroic commendations or 40 epic tokens or 8 heroic commendations

Proud Heart of Wood: 30 epic tokens or 6 heroic commendations

Epic Racial Past Lives:

Epic Half-Orc: +1 Strength, +1 physical damage

Epic Halfling: +1 Dexterity, +1% dodge, +5% dodge cap

Epic Human: +1 skills, +1 action point

Epic Warforged: +1 Constitution, +10% fortification

Epic Racist: Requires each Epic Race feat
Grants a +1 bonus to ability scores reduced by a racial penalty; races with no racial ability score penalty instead receive 2 additional action points

Epic Class Past Lives:

Epic Artificer Past Life: Grants a percentage bonus to damage from any source to constructs equal to twice the number of artificer past lives and a bonus to repair spellpower and repair amplification equal to the number of artificer class levels; alters Student of Artifice to increase enhancement bonus to 1 + 1 per 5 heroic levels; may earn an additional heroic artificer past life

Massive power creep, so no. The difference between a "finished" character under your system and an average current TRed Epic character would be so great that Turbine would be forced to rebalance content, and it would become de facto required to Epic TR your character many times (just like its de facto required to have multiple TRs now to do most top level content). Also, design wise, the TR train was designed to keep Heroic content relevant and replayable, and Epic content as "endgame". Epic content, thus, is designed with a different philosophy. There may come a day when the level cap has been raised so much that much of the current Epic content becomes obsolete (which is what TR solves for Heroic), but even when it goes up to 28 with the expansion, you dont need to add a new layer of TR just to save King's Forest...I kinda like that Epic content is meant to be enjoyed by "finished" characters, not having another layer of grinding.

Epic Racist: Requires each Epic Race feat

Assessment: mostly overpowered. Also, maybe a tiny Confederate flag flanks your character's name on hover.

...

If this is just from your imagination and not something being developed by Turbine, please stop posting ideas endorsing ridiculous power creep and grind. I am sick to death of naive people giving Turbine ideas on how to bog us down in grind, nerfs and time sinks.

You might be doing it in good faith, but what happens is companies like Turbine see this kind of thing as endorsement for even more revenue raising. Meanwhile, we get sidetracked from actually playing the game, into scrambling to keep up with all the grindy, P2P bulls*t, or have our characters end up becoming completely irrelevant.

Stop asking Turbine to screw us over even worse than they already have. Also, be very careful what you ask for from companies like this, or you will likely get it, but now how you envisioned. Before you know it, we will have server past lives, guild past lives, ddo store past lives etc.

First of all, if you find yourself scrambling to keep up in this game, this game may not be for you. It's an incredibly easy game, and any gimp toon can succeed. Second, berating someone for posting something they'd like to see in the game is childish. Just because YOU wouldn't like something like this, doesn't mean others wouldn't as well. Grow up and learn that not everything is designed just for you. You aren't the center of some universe where everything revolves around you and where no one else's wants are ever evaluated and implemented.

white knighting/trolling attempt

Really, that's the best you can do?

First of all, if you find yourself scrambling to keep up in this game, this game may not be for you. It's an incredibly easy game, and any gimp toon can succeed.

Nowhere did I imply that the game was hard or that my objections to the OP have anything whatsoever to do with difficulty level. Scrambling to keep up with grindy time sinks has absolutely nothing to do with how hard the game is. That you exptrapolated that out to conclude that I was somehow struggling with the skills required to play DDO is nothing more than a desperate trolling attempt.

There is a long history of exactly what I described in my first post in this game. Leaving the specifics of the OP's game mechanics flaws to one side, asking for something like this, given even the recent history of quality issues, is asking for all kinds of buggy trouble.

We know what Turbine's response to this sort of thing has evolved into. They either declare it WAI or sell a work-around in the DDO store. They even work nerfs into the game now, disguises as bugs, to deflect and disperse customer criticism. They broke the forums and made them fugly so that less people would congregate here complaining.

The P2W aspect of DDO has already become an obnoxious goldmine for Turdine, infecting every aspect of gameplay. Suggestions like the OP's are only begging Turbine to allow the game to devolve into an even more cynical, non-immersive, uninspired, disappointing, grindy, buggy turdfest; as they prioritise DDO store sales over quality control. Replies like yours to criticism like mine, is only further endorsing such ill concieved suggestions.

Is that what you really want, to have massive, stupid power creep, with content adjusted to suit, requiring insane amounts of grind, only mitigated by P2W shortcuts and infested with frustrating bugs? Oh and if you think you won't be gimp by ignoring it, you haven't been following DDO's history.

After EVERY major update, especially one's which introduce new classes or races, Turbine GUARANTEES that these will become the new FoTM easy buttons, by interfering with game mechanics, thus ensuring that those who want to continue to enjoy the same relative level of effectiveness in the game(who don't play DDO for a living), will be forced to make liberal use of all the 'change my character to FoTM and get me back to cap quick, so I can exploit the loot tables before they turn down the droprates' shortcuts and easybuttons.

There is nothing childish about my position at all. In fact it is rather naive, given the evidence, that anyone could think otherwise. So no thanks, I'll pass, you can keep your Epic TR and any other ideas that endorses the same viscious cycle of nerf/easybutton/P2W store shortcut.
