Updated lowbie gear.

I was running an old mule toon ( lvl 7 ) thur some quests to maybe grab a bit of favor. I pulled a "new" barbarian spirit and a giant knife from Gwylns and noticed that they were both BtCoE. Are all the "new" versions of items like this? So now if I want one for an alt I now have to get one for each toon. I liked the new system while playing my capped toons but I think the little guys got screwed. What's the reasoning behind this? Twinkin out new toons is now frowned upon.

Yeah pretty much all of them are now - so you if you want it for twinking something new, run the quests on an alt & don't equip them. Somewhat annoying change, though the new effects on them are pretty sweet.

The alternative if you want to trade between characters (for something you've already used on a character) is to list them in the astral shard auction house at the minimum price you can, then switch to the character you want it on & buy it back, hoping someone else doesn't notice it & hit the buyout option in the 2min or so window while its on there.

or, you can just try to find some of the older unbound ones.. depends on the item really but some aren't all that hard to find knocking about. Of course, a few rather powerful things like the old-style cloak of ice & the mace of smiting can be pretty expensive now.

The lowbie gear is so easy to get, I don't think this is really an issue.

They are bind on equip, so you can still transfer them to another character as long as you haven't used them yet. Also, they added Augment slots, so technically all the lowbie gear is better now, and even more twink.
