View Full Version : Positive Feedback and some info on AS Shop

A little background (also posted in another thread) - A week or three ago I spent 25 AS on an item from the shop which was one of those BTCoE types. Seeing that it was BTCoE, rather than log out of the character I was currently using and logging with the character I wanted the item for, I simply bought it right then and headed over to deposit it in my shared bank.

As you can guess (or may have already experienced/heard) selling and then buying an already bound item (BTC) does NOT reset the binding, so as soon as you purchase it, it is bound to you ON AQUIRE essentially. So my character could not place this item in the shared account, nor could he really use it (he is a TWF and this was a THW). Likewise I could not auction/trade/mail it. Best I could do is to vendor it for 15% of face value in plat. If I had had any AS left after the purchase I could have tried relisting it in the AS shop, but I was out of AS now.

So anyway, I turned in an in-game ticket (hoping the GM could transfer the item to the appropriate toon). Well as many have learned the in-game GM(s) are quick to close tickets w/o explanation simply telling me to turn in a bug report. Another ticket explaining that a bug-report would not get a reply, nor would it get my item transferred, was also closed within 5 minutes stating I should call account support.

At this point I basically figured I'd have to just write off the loss and move on. However, yesterday I decided "what the heck" and called the 800 account support number. It was a moderately long wait on hold (15 minutes) but then a support rep named Matt picked up and after exlaining my situation, he politely placed me on hold for another minute or two and came back. He stated that the BTC was WAI, though he understood the confusion and said they would make an exception this time and refunded me 150TP to make up for the loss of the Astral Shards.

Wanted to offer kudos since Turbine takes a lot of whacks on customer support. This was actually the second time in a couple months I had to call account support, and got Matt the first time too. He was helpful in both circumstances.

Anyway, just sayin'. :)

Yes... grats on your 150tp, the problem is... after 15 minutes on hold i would be paying more on the international call then what i would get from the 150tp...

Nevertheless, every time i called Turbine support they have been helpful.
The GMs, that is another story but a few times they were helpful also (although those times were not enough to forget the bad ones).

Yeah, I feel for ya there. That would bite.

I think as far as "helpful" so far in the time I have been DDo'ing:

Account Support I'm 2 for 2.
In-game support I'm 1 for 4.
