ive never done this type but i wanted to do 11 rogue and 9 monk just to get through the life and get the past life. so my question is 11 rogue levels will get me the past life correct? or do i need 12?

11 will, in fact 10 Rogue and 10 monk will.

yes any combo of 11/9 will give it to the 11 but with rogue monk you could go 10/10 and get rogue since it goes alphabetic except for the added classes they follow in the order added
all starting classes in alpha order

11 is good. In event of tie (10/10 for example) alphabetically first class (monk in this case) is first iirc. There was something about order classes were added president. Check wiki if going even split. Otherwise simple majority wins.

id probably still go with a higher number. Who knows if you'll be the next shining example of a sacrifice to find the newest bug out there in place of the rest of us.

It would have to be a new bug, I've done many past lives with 10/10 or 7/7/6 builds and it always gives me the past life according to the wiki post I linked above.
And of course the dev's never break anything that has been working for a long time. ;)

As above, good stuff.
A final test is to log out, log back in, step into a wilderness/quest,
summon a hire and carefully look at what your class symbol
beside your character is.
If you TR without any more changes, that should be your past life always.

That would be wrong.
