it is a very decent build.
however, after building all versions of the Kensai, i found that the KII is actually tops. have fun with it though. :)

Isn't there a way now with epic destinies to get SP on a pure Ftr?

Would be interesting to make a Ftr20/AA sometime.


I have a Ftr18/Rgr1/Wiz1 AA that I enjoy.

You'd have to take sorc past-life to get the requirement for AA...and for a pretty minor gain (especially if what I've seen lately about 22% being the maximum ranged attack speed bonus is true - but even if it's not...).

Personally, if I did a Kensai AA, I'd go 12 Fighter/6 Monk/2 Ranger - 10k stars is much stronger than kensai 3 for a ranged character. If 10k stars becomes a monk bonus feat like has been suggested by the devs, I'd go 12 Fighter/6 Ranger/2 Monk...but that's off towards infinity into the future (supposed to be alongside the enhancement pass).

If you have half-elf available, it makes a much stronger race than elf as well.

I believe you can now get SPs from Wizardry items even if you can't cast spells. However AA still requires one of "Bard Energy of Music I, Elven Arcanum I, Sorcerer Energy of the Dragonblooded I, Wizard Energy of the Scholar I, Mental Toughness, Past Life: Arcane Prodigy." So a pure ftr AA would still need sorc PL.

The other problem is just as the rgr capstone doesn't provide as big of an atk speed boost as it's supposed to and doesn't stack w/AA ToD set, the ftr capstone is the same, only smaller. :( So I'm pretty sure the monkcher will have higher sustained ranged DPS than the pure ftr AA. To my mind, the real appeal of pure ftr AA is if you want a mixed melee / ranged toon who benefits from +10% doublestrike as well as Kensei III bonuses.

OP: if you're willing to multiclass, there's little incentive to taking so many rgr lvls on an AA, even if you're "stuck" with elf instead of HE and can't make a monkcher. Rgr lvl 11 gets you all the free rgr feats; I would go no higher than rgr lvl 15 (two lvl 4 spell slots + 1 more FE). Do you have any P2P classes you can use?

How about taking 1 rogue ( also some SA )/arty/bard level for full umd ? 19 th fighter doesn't give you much.

You also want improved precise shot, precision for ranged. Gtwf without improved crit and PA is meh, I'd go with imp crit slash ( falchion ? ) and go thf.
Maybe 21 dex for combat archery if it ever get fixed.

10 ranks in jump is enough, some balance is ok and take UMD !
Augment summon, swim, improved intim ? Fighter haste boost 4 instead ( even twist damage boost from dread ). You really gotta take advantage of super strong manyshot ( double boost, haste, surge ). Strong melee for the other 100 seconds.
