First I'd like to say that I like the concept of Daily Dice and certainly understand that Tubine did not have to give us any freebies at all. I, for one, appreciate that. Especially so considering my lottery on the MyDDO page has been broken for months.
Now, I have seen many posts about the UI of the Daily Dice and i'm inclined to agree: it's not user friendly. It is all too easy to spend AS w/o meaning to. The problem with this, is AS are mostly received through real money. I've looted 2 Astral Diamonds in my entire 7 year DDO career. 1 I destroyed, the other I crunched into AS. Having a UI that is misleading and makes it easy to accidentally spend real money is not good. A confirmation box every single roll would be a pain for those that like the feature, so I don't want to impede that. However, DDO has a feature the very first time you go incap or die that explains what is going on with a check box "don't show this again." Something similar for the DD would be welcome.
Also, in the old lottery system, I could sumbit multiple chances daily for every character I own across all servers. This DD feature gives me 1 free spin per server per day. The goal seems obvious: get people to log in daily and perhaps spend a couple bucks trying their luck. It might be more enticing if it stacked like a BB streak. IE: day 1 you get 1 free spin. Day 2 you get 2, etc. Max of 5 frree spins on the silver table. This would encourage folks to log in daily while not making it so if you don't log in you're locked out forever. It also helps close the gap from the old lottery where I could submit 20+ characters. I understand I wasn't guaranteed anything with the old lottery system, but let's face it the DD isn't THAT much better. I got 5 lesser evil essences. My girlfriend got 1 common collectable.
I saw a post from a dev that they will be addressing the BTC status of some DD items. I hope this gets resolved sooner rather than later. If I get anything I will be forced to use it immediatly, or toss it so I can clear my TR cache and TR again. Or be forced to remain at cap.
Other than that, I think it's a neat idea. Thanks to the devs for working on this for us.
