I looked for a Turn Off Daily Dice Notification option and didn't see one.
Does it exist? If not, why not?

Because no one thought someone wouldn't want something for free?

Well, you can turn off the entire Character Portrait bar that the Daily Dice notification appears on. And now that they stuck the mail icon on your party bar (I also saw no check bock to turn this 'feature' off) there is not really much of a reason to have that bar on.

Please add a toggle so that we can turn this crooked "feature" off, please.

Im just curious, why does it bother you all so much? Its not like it is a big notification, its alot smaller than the mail notification.

It doesn't bother me "so much" except as a constant reminder of the game I love appearing to go down the toilet. To the extent that it would be nice to not have that constant reminder, I'd like to have a little check box to turn that puppy off.

I think you mean "free" not "crooked" since there is no reason to believe it is fixed and it is notifying you of a FREE roll.

Lotteries were free too, and not nearly so annoying.

You mean the one that tied up your browser for a full minute somtimes? Well that one is still there.
This new one is free and takes only 5 seconds to get a guarenteed something.
Seems like the new one is easier and less annoying to me.
What about the new one bothers you? That the icon stays up if you don't take that 5 seconds each day to get your free thing?

If you hit it once it's free. If you hit it more than once, it's not free, but costs astral shards. The cost in astral shards is literally in the fine print. It's clearly designed as a "gateway drug" to dupe or entice people into spending shards.
But above and beyond that, I just think there's enough doodads and geegaws to look at, and I'd like to have the freedom to turn the ones I don't want to look at off. In the end, that's what I care about: freedom. Those who want it leave it on, those who don't, don't.

I feel like Im in Vegas, cause everything is rigged for the House now. Astral shards are just a way for everything in game to be purchased with RL dollars, even the auction house now. Its really sad.

First off the reminder icon is super tiny
Second just like everything else that is P2P in this game with a little patience and luck you can do it entirely F2P.
On the other hand if someone wants to blow 300$ on this I say more more power to them, if that more than they can afford that's their own **** fault, if its a kid using Daddy or Mommies C-Card thats the parents fault (Hint: Use Pre-Paid Credit Cards so once the kids allotted money is gone, it's gone)
Personally I will never pay to get Astral shards for the gold box (my money is better spent on adventure packs, classes, etc.) but I'll likely log on as often as possible to roll that silver box...guess what thats mission accomplished for Turbine.
In short I get free stuff every day including some DDO store stuff and Turbine gets my virtual butt online almost daily so we both win.

First off the reminder icon is super tiny
There are two notifications, one in the party list which IS tiny but can cause you to open your daily dice in the middle of a fight if you use that to click around to target party members which many healers do.
The second notification is on the large personal health bar and is much larger and distracting as people that use that tend to make it highly visible and pay lots of attention to it. Putting the mail notification on there was super stupid and annoying and now there is a daily dice there because why not repeat past mistakes that people complained about.

First off - this is what some of you need to post in your threads ..... seriously.

I'm sorry to say but getting so pent up over something so innocuous really is sad.
It cheated me ..... oh, you don't understand ONE free roll per day and clicked it again but now it's Turbines fault.
It's illegal gambling, wha wha ..... oh really, can I have my cash winnings then please?
It's a huge icon that's turning me into a gambling devil ...... sure.
It's destroying my game that I want to be stuck in the U9 era ...... if we had no people who spend a lot of money to cover the rest of us, we would have no F2P game, durr.
Man, 14 million doom threads about 2 features that we are totally NOT being forced to use. There are bugs and lag issues to worry about, put your energy into that instead. Sad darn gits.

It's actually quite the direct opposite of a drama queen thread, I just want the option to turn off the notification. There's like what, 80 different configuration options at least? Asking for an 81st isn't being a drama queen.
Leaving any judgment on the worth of the DD entirely out of it, I'd just want an option to turn it off. It's no different than when we wanted the option to drag the Start Menu options onto a shortcut bar, and Turbine listened and gave us the option. Was anyone going to die if we didn't get that? Nope. Am I glad we have it? Yep. Were the people who asked for it drama queens by asking for it? No.

I didn't even say I would use the option. I just want to have the option. We can set Anisotropic Filter Quality. We can set Texture Filtering to Bilinear, Trilinear, Sharp, Very Sharp, and Anisotropic.
None of that suggests that hordes of people are storming the gates because to not have the option of Very Sharp harms them down to their soul. Nobody is suggesting that people who have the Anisotropic Filter Quality set to 4 are precisely half as moral or worthy as those who have the Anisotropic Filter Quality set to 8.
Options are cool. Features are cool. Add a new feature, add the options for the feature. It is pretty standard practice.

I don't find a toggle on/off request to be unreasonable

They have a notification system for guilds reaching a certain level, for dropping quest items on exiting a quest etc. It's not perfect, but it works. This is the system that should be used for mail and dice notification.
Attaching non-combat alerts to combat interface elements is very bad design. The only thing worse would be to have a modron dance across your screen singing "Hello My Baby".

Devs please ignore this suggestion, this would be a PITA because one it will be obliterated by your equipment text (ie. VoTM grants +5%) thing that shows off and 2nd you would only be notified on mail upon log-in so you could be playing for hours and not realize you have mail.

Screwing with the UI is something that has always "bugged" me. The same reason that they will not put a on/off toggle switch is the same reason why there are no clocks in a vegas casino.
As for fixing lag and bugs, I am sure they are trying to put an item in the store to "fix 1 bug". Until they can charge you for it (even more than what you are already paying), don't expect them to come to the plate.

Neither of your reasons is true. Or even make any sense. Are you suggesting you only get alerted to dropping a quest item the next time you log in? Are you saying that by changing the location of the alert they suddenly wouldn't be able to add and remove it like they can in the position that it is in? Really silly.

The one on the health bar is hardly tiny, they're badly designed and there is no reason for it. Get over it.
