Bring Back Dannato!

It is a pretty simple suggestion and one which has been remarked upon numerous times. Bring back Dannato!

Who is Dannato? He is a friend of Verisgante, who resides in House J. Stroll up to Verisgante while in an undead form and Verisgante USED to offer you an option to talk to Dannato. In turn, Dannato would offer you all sorts of pale masters goodies in exchange for collectibles. Granted the randomness of the turn ins resulted in all sorts of stuff you really didnt need, but, sometimes you received Harm scrolls.

Agreed we already have to deal with stat dmg on pms and debuffs that cant be undone with pots like in other classes .. now they take away the undead vendor aswell ?! i hope is an oversight and they gone correct it asap !!

They were supposed to offer a mechanism to deal with stat damage as a PM since being informed in xpac beta of the problems they created by changing poison and disease immunity in the way that they have.

Now the collector turn in's have been conviently forgotten. Nope, turning in a couple hundred marks of the keeper to get 10 scrolls was OP apparently. And they still haven't shown up at vendors unlike heal and reconstruct.

no as in giving it a restoration effect for undead so that pm's can cure their own stat damage with out high umd for harm scrolls or dropping form.

Honestly, please pass on this suggestion. I'd guess that Dannato is gone because he was a special option for that particular NPC and all collector NPCs were changed to the same dialog.

So Turbine, you can either customize that NPC again *or* how about make an undead vendor, perhaps out in Necropolis, that will just sell you inflict potions, wands and scrolls as well as Harm and other "necromancy" type scrolls that Dannato used to give out.

I think this would probably be easier to do, keeps all the collector NPCs with the same dialog options should you need to do a global change again, and provides something the community has wanted for years.

So what I'm getting from this comment is that one of the things not available with the "Barter Box" style is the extra dialogs that are part of duel purpose NPCs.

Might I suggest just adding Dannato back in and only let him talk to the "Undead". You could even have him go "pssst...pssst" to passing Undead Shrouded wizards ;). There is simply no need to spawn him.

However, I would be cool with Harm Scrolls and Potions being vendor available too - Say in a dark corner of the Portable hole.

Seriously though please for the love of the undead fix the collectible guy o better yet out in a vendor. But I highly doubt this will happen soon due to inflict potions being readily available in the DDO store.

Thanks for taking a look at this. I've been on about it for about 3 months now. So have others.

While creating a new mechanic that addresses this issue could you please consider moving harm scrolls to the vendors as well? My biggest issue with the trade mechanic was that on average I was only getting 10 scrolls per 100 marks of the keeper through Dannato. That could be gone in a couple of runs of anything epic. But particularly gianthold if you are built for dc's primarily.

Moving the scrolls to vendors would provide a solid backup for those who take solace in the hate of others.
