EE Whisperchain vs Upgrade 2 Black Dragonhide
Which to wear and why? I can't make up my mind.

I talked about this in a different thread . . . DDO now has built-in obsolescence on all gear . . .
if the target you are attacking has ANY fortification at all (after your other fort reduction) Black scale is better. At 0% fort Black Scale is probably still better anyway with the 3% double-strike and Relentless Fury proc.
I'm of course only talking about DPS, if you still need the incorporeal and perm-blur Whisperchain still has that.

I'd go with Whisperchain on the grounds that it gives you 40 extra hit points, has a cumulative (once the heightened awareness is figured in) two point AC bonus over the Black Dragonhide, makes all your Melee attacks Ghost Touch, and gives enemies that aren't Trueseeing a flat 30% miss chance between the Blurry and Ghostly.
Yes, the BGH has points in its favor, but for my money, these points outweigh them.

With good eqjuipment, the black is better. It has a higher dex bonus for better dodge, and you can slot in 35 hp, for only a 5 hp difference. Blur is common on GS items, too.

The very poor max dex bonus on the whisperchain makes it vendor trash, IMO.
Black Dragon Armour all the way! Be sure to get a version where you can maintain at least a 25 dex bonus. You can do this with the robe, or the light armour with some help.

The black looks like solidified feces, though... At least the Whisperchain looks okay.
Really, it's a toss-up, I'd say. I'd go with the chain, but that's me.

As soon as I get permablur and ghostly slotted elsewhere, black. Until then, whisper. Permablur and ghostly matter too much to mess with.
Whisperchain is better consolidation, black is better armor. Considering though that you can get everything on Whisperchain elsewhere, it's almost certainly not part of an ideal gear set.
I would want to run EE Ring of Shadows now and there's several ways to get exceptional sneak.
