Looking for Heavy Picks of the following kinds:

Epic Base Damage of Metal Typing: Silver x1/Cold Iron x2/Addy x2

Vertigo +10 Suffix with a good Prefix. Ideally, +6 Tempestuous/Scintillating Heavy Pick of Debilitation/Devestation, but honestly, that's a pipe dream.

Red slot Lootgens

Alchemical Heavy Picks x2

Let me know what you have and perhaps we can work something out?

FYI, with Devastation you can potentially even getting stunning on a pick.

Yeah, you should keep an eye out for debilitation (uncommon affix) or devastation (extremely rare affix) for stunning/vertigo. Devastation is so rare though that I have not even personally seen one, not even on the AH.

You could also do alchemical picks if you have LOB materials.

I run a stunning 10 Dun Robar full time now, so the vertigo one is what I'm after for tactics reasons.

I'll look at Alchemicals too I suppose. Triple Earth for CC might be ok.

well, i only have 2 epic cold iron heavy picks 1 is already disjunctioned and the other has like RR: Dwarf :p

I have a Seeker +10 Cold Iron heavy pick of Tendon Slice 10% if you're interested.

what builds would maximize the use of picks? OC builds? Fury TWF builds? Fury is nice for cruddy crit threat weapons since it's auto crit...I guess people use daxe's successfully while picks are like the khopesh of the daxe world: same threat extra multiplier.

Anyway sorry I don't really have any good picks but I am curious what you'd do with them. Bump.

It's rumored that if you are a good at using Heavy Picks you can go to a certain quest (hint you also need explosives) and that you can mine astral shards from one particular area.

Have you seem the new Deathnips by any chance? They are ridiculously good now. Even high enough DPS to rival Drowpesh, but with a Red Slot.

Plus, with the new Black Armor giving up to 20% fort bypass and Precision giving another 25%, plus Improved Sunder giving 10%.... Then Grim Precision twisted in.... It all adds up very quickly.

Ok so you can rival the drowpesh...that nets you a feat i suppose which is nice by switching to picks.

But is there anything else that makes them especially attractive? Talk a grind to get 2 deathnips...though I did notice they are improved a bit.

Probably no more than the Drow Khopesh grind. In fact maybe cheaper, as they are many more people running Necro 4 - TRs, etc.

I managed to get all the pages I needed through a bit of generosity from Guildies and a friend or two who had been on a TRing kick for a while. I'm sure you have guildies with extra pages.

Also, Khyber AH has them for about 200k buyout usually, and buying complete sets through trade channels can be lucrative usually. I think the only one I had trouble getting was Page V because the only one on the AH was at 600k buyout lol.

I wanted to roll a Deathnip wielder before but after the item pass, man, they look so sweet, it's a must.

I just looked this up the only weapon from update 17 epic elite gianthold that even rivals this 5 year old level 14 weapon is the axe of adaxus which I think is roughly comparable with the deathnips due to the 2 more crit range because the axe has 3 level 24 slots for damage.

Balizarde has keen. You don't need IC for it.

Note: Picks use Anvil of Thunder and Balizarde use Volcano's Edge. Bit of a pain if you are planning to use LD. The stun with Anvil might be nice though.

Don't need IC for Balizarde, but you want it for Deathnip.

Yeah whatever he decides to call himself this week. What a bunch of jibber jabber a level 14 5 year old new weapon is better then any existing brand new level 25 epic elite weapons. If that is not a bunch of what have you I do not know what is. Dev license revoked.
