This is an idea(which may have been suggested before) about upgrading the quick slots that are located below your inventory. I would make the suggestion of being able to put one of each item/armor and two weapons into these slot to make it easier for us to switch to different setup for different situation.
I'll expand a little more, having the option to drag an armor, helm,belt..ect into this slot and then up to two weapons and then being able to drag this to a hot bar would be a great way to let players to quickly change gear/weapons to changing role/conditions. Plese give feed back and/or suggestions.

would be nice, but armors have progress bar to equip, so it would slow down switching such a set

Agreed but it would still make it quicker, instead of finding all the right stuff to click in your hot bar(if its close to each other) you could just click this one slot and yes ther would still be a progress bar but you would have to find everythign else.

It works fine in the current iteration for switching weapons in combat....

How often are you switching armors, though? Its not like armors are THAT specific for enemy type or quest type. Usually your armor selection is defined by your build, not your scenario.

Obviously not in combat, with the progress bar...and between combat, is it really that onerous to have a couple buttons dedicated to your armor options? How often are you changing both your armor and your weapons at once?

Unless you're talking about accessories as well as armor? I wouldnt use an armor switching hotset, but I would use an accessory switching hotset. That being said, I've suggested that in the past myself, but I think you should only be allowed one or two - otherwise it encourages min-max micromanagment that's detrimental to the fun, casual player....no one wants to have a Fire suit, an Acid suit, and a Healing suit, and be constantly switching to cast different spells, etc. Or for melee, no one wants to have to switch to +20 Intim gloves, intim, switch to +20 Bluff gloves, bluff, etc. - but people would, because of the huge advantage in that type of behavior, so that would affect balance for everyone.

I'd rather just see one accessory hotset you can set as your "base" so you could switch out clickies etc. more conveniently, rather than have two hotbars devoted to clickies AND your "base" item loadout.

I could see this with everything except the armor. It should never be quick to swap out.

I personally like this idea, as I have weapon/docent sets for different scenarios, and this would be a valuable time-saver... not to mention the "click-lag" that often results in me clicking multiple icons, but only a few actually activate.

However, I also grant that the number of people like me may not be high enough to risk a bug that will wipe out your Flawless Red Dragonscale armor, or what have you.
