View Full Version : Apply weapon damage modifier type to certain tactical attacks?

I was just thinking of a rather interesting idea while looking at certain weapons:

"What if we could apply our weapon damage type modifier to certain tactical melee feats?"

Basically, if you have a weapon that, say, uses your dex mod instead of str for weapon damage, you could apply that dex mod to your DC's of tactical feats such as trip, sunder, and its improved versions. This would allow those besides tactical fighters and such to actually make use of feats such as trip and sunder, and open up more interesting ideas for these classes. Your thoughts?

Not a bad idea, but I would prefer they make new active feats for DEX, etc based characters. A tactical ranged ability (called shot?) would be great.

Id say use the attack mod, instead of the damage mod- But Im not opposed to this suggestion.

Well, this game is missing 3 very important tactical attacks from PnP (Bull Rush, Disarm, Grapple). Disarm could easily be dex based.
Couple of reasons why all these should exist.
Bull Rush, minotaurs can already do it to us.
Grapple, it's just hold person for melees.
Disarm, ok, we don't have anything like this already, however, just make it so a "disarmed" target can't use weapons for 1d6 seconds. Disarm could easily be dex based.
