How is a question a suggestion?
Bug report it, the UMD lag doesn't affect everyone, only some people. I've never experienced it, but I know a few that have.

He's just wondering:

I accidentally responded on Lammania forum which I don't really care about regarding UMD lag but on live, the bunny hat has been rendered useless if I am in combat. Sometimes lag can last 1-4 seconds which is never good if you are trying to scroll to live :P

1. One could deduce that the question in itself infers that the "suggestion and idea" is to fix a bug that has been known for a very long time (it is a known bug).
2. It does not effect everyone is not an excuse. If all clerics failed when casting heal scrolls, it would also be a bug that "doesn't affect everyone, only some people", and you would only experience that as a cleric. It would still be a known bug (and would probably be fixed immediately because nobody would play clerics that did not have access to heal scrolls)
To be clear, my suggestion and idea is that this bug should be a higher priority or at least a statement issued from Turbine on if/when it will be fixed. It has been a known bug for almost a year now, hasn't it? Yet another update is about to roll out and not even a slight improvement, in fact most people feel the lag is increasing and the situation degrading.

didnt know this UMD lag didnt affect everyone. everyone i know, including myself, feels the effect. something simple like switching to put on my voice or clicking the +2 cha buff causes the lag. so maybe .000001 of the population is definitely affected.

it didn't *used* to affect me, but ever since MotU it's been crippling on my bard. And her UMD hops a lot. (Switching to Xoriat shard to even out her CHA or more DC, Inspire Excellence, swapping out her CHA skills/SP GS goggles when her SP gets low enough, swapping stuff *back* around to shrine...)

I believe the people "not effected" are the ones that don't often swap gear that effects UMD (most likely because they don't even use UMD), and hence whatever memory leak or UMD calculation subroutine or client/server ack/nack is going on they just don't run into and notice because they are never swapping gear that effects UMD skill.
I have heard the complaint more and more in groups lately (not even bringing it up myself, since I'm pretty sick of talking about it for so long and nothing getting done by the devs to fix it, it feels like beating a dead horse at this point)
I did notice about a week ago, that one of my toons (a 2nd life FVS) is really really slow to log out every single time on the toon, regardless of location. I am talking 4-6 times the normal logout time time. And it is only on that toon (not other toons on my account), and only happened this 2nd life (was not like that first life). So it is possible maybe it is only some "toons" that experience the UMD lag. Although, that would not explain why ALL my toons it is noticeable.

On my Arti, when I switch to a Bauble, or Phiarlan Timepiece or whatever from Treasure Hunter's spyglass(+3 UMD) or back to it, I pause and elevator music comes on... The Girl from Ipanema I think:

You are the first person I've heard that didn't experience it. Do you swap out umd gear in combat situations?

I experience it on all three of my UMD toons.

its particularly bad when I am running to or from something and I do a switch...I get a 50% chance of continuing to run forward or to veer 90 degrees in a side direction and fall off a cliff.
quite scary moving when switching things in a precarious trail.
been happening for years I think.

This used to happen to me all the time.........
After messing around with different settings, I found that If I switch to DX9 It does not happen.
When I saw thread I logged on & tried DX10 ........... lags 2 to 3 seconds whenever switch out voice to bloodstone.
Switched back to DX9 ........ Perfect, no lag at all?
Not sure if thats just my pc but it works for me.
I also run the game in compatability mode for win xp, which disables DX10 anyway.
