Given the recent announcement that particular set bonuses are being changed to no longer stack, I figured it was time to let the powers that be know about the evil plague that has infested this game…

Oh Turbine, we beseech thee! Save your people from the evil that ravages this wondrous game! Stacking bonuses are a blight upon this holiest of products and only the swiftest intervention will protect the masses from unspeakable tragedy!

1. Ram’s Might: this lowly spell cast by Druids and Rangers gives a stacking +2 to damage and strength. This must be changed to an artifact bonus to indicate that rangers are a mere relic of the power they once were with the manyshot bug. Also to protect us from the unspeakably over powered Ranger/Bard build.

2. Certain Classes: there are several classes, that if stacked in certain ways, can irrevocably break this great game of ours. A level 18 Wizard that stacks another 2 levels of Wizard onto their build will greatly increase their DCs and ravage all which stands in their path. This evil ability to break the game must not be allowed to flourish.

3. Character Stats (STR/DEX etc.): some people have figured out ways to get their main stats to incredibly unrealistic levels, which breaks the game for all those unable to replicate the awesome abilities of the powerful ones. All stats should have a hard cap of 30 to ensure equality for all. No more Barbarians running around with 100+ strength and making other melees feel underpowered.

4. Armor Class: the changes to AC in MoTU were a good start, but more is needed to reel in the unstable force that is stacking AC bonuses. Make AC hard cap at 25 and all enemies’ to-hit bonuses at least +40. This alone will ensure greater equality amongst the melee classes, such that certain classes are not significantly less likely to get hit than others.

5. Spell DCs: some classes are able to get much higher DCs than others. This is unacceptable for a progressive game such as this. Hard cap all spell DCs at 35 and increase enemy saves by 25%.

6. Item Modifiers: a +1 khopesh with flaming burst will cut down a kobold on average 37.9% faster than a +1 khopesh without flaming burst (not tested under actual in-game conditions). This is an unacceptable increase in killing speed. All weapons should be +1 with no other modifiers to ensure equality for all. Also, Spell Focus Items should not stack with the relevant Feats. Seriously guys, this makes it unfair for the people who don't have the bestamest build/gear!

7. Set Bonuses: All set bonuses should be changed to not stack, regardless of the actual bonus being bestowed. In fact, just take out all set bonuses, they allow some players to gain an unfair advantage against those players who do not have the item sets.

8. Bard Songs: these songs give huge benefits to groups with a Bard, and are an unfair advantage over groups without a Bard. This stacking madness must be stopped.

9. Boxes: in several quests, especially in the Harbor and Marketplace, there are boxes and/or crates stacked on top of each other. This requires characters (especially halflings) to jump in order to grab onto the box and then get on top of the stacked boxes. Think of the halflings!

10. Races: races that receive +2 to certain stats are able to start with a 20 in those particular stats. This is unfair for the races that do not have such bonuses. Therefore, all races should start with no bonuses or penalties to stats, and no bonus feats, to ensure equality for all.

Finally, I propose the “Stacking the Deck” Rule. This rule comes into play when your group is attempting to get the “perfect” setup for a given quest.

If the quest has traps and/or locked doors/chests and there is a character in your group with either Rogue or Artificer levels, your group will be unable to enter the quest. If there is a Bard in your group, your group will be unable to enter the quest. If there is a Cleric/Favored Soul/Druid/Wizard/Sorcerer in your group, your group will be unable to enter the quest. The penalties for attempting to break the “Stacking the Deck” Rule are as follows:
1st Offense: Warning
2nd Offense: 3 Day Ban
3rd Offense: 1 Week Ban
4th Offense: Lifetime Ban

With that, we so humbly ask you to remove the blight which is stacking bonuses that taints this game of ours!

Its only the melee stacking bonuses that are getting nerfed.. i mean fixed. The devs found out a few melees could solo EE and thats why they are getting put back in their place :D

Spell focus feats and items definitely should not stack, this needs to be nerfed ASAP.

Im out of the loop- whats all the commotion about?

apparently the Red Fens Claw Set bonus got artifact bonus type assigned to it on Lamania so its not as 'stackable' as untyped

Yes! Buff each according to need; nerf each according to ability!

I agree, many spells and classes should be reclassified from stacking to one specific type of bonus to better enable the development team to scale dungeons in a more consistent manner, since having multiple abilities / spells / ac sources can lead to outlier cases where some players face a less-than-intended challenge in some quest difficulties, including Epic Elite.

With that, I also suggest not to wear any items that you grinded or building a character that you worked for through TR or ED leveling, because you will be an outlier and will face a less-than-intended challenge in some quest difficulties, including Casual.

Having consistent classifications for spells and whatever, also makes it easier for new and existing players to understand that being an outlier is not good for this game, we must all be on a specific intended benefits that are available for us.
