Am gonna be tr'ing my paladin for a second time and wanted to put that 10% healing amp to good use.

Have looked around and wanna make a ranger with the ability to disable traps and nice bit of evation/dodge. I have put together a build below and would like to hear peoples expert opinion please.

I know there are many rogue fighter splash tempest builds out there. I am more familiar with the human and half-elf varieties.

One observation is that you're waiting all the way to level 18 to take oversize two weapon fighting. I feel that by then, oversize twf has less impact and it might be better to go with lightning reflex (giving you an additional +2 reflex saves, useful since you'll be trapping).

What is your plan with this build? I see a mix of melee and ranged, along with trapping (which is good). My 28 point build first life tempest does fine with ranged with only 14 base dex, manyshot, and no improved crit ranged. His khopesh melee damage is much better, but if I have to stand back and range, I can still do plenty of damage.

I would also drop open lock to 4. The skill points could be used else where considering that most lock DCs are rather low. I would likely throw those points between balance and concentration.

If you're set on going elf, then go for it, but if you're on the fence on the race, there are many other options. I find this build difficult to mess up... Even without using a character planner.

Also, one reason I prefer human or half-elf over elf is for the human versatility line. The +5 skill bonus is great, and the +20% helps when I know there are no traps. Again, not trying to lead you away from elf, but I figured this would be useful to know. This also stacks with rogue haste boost!

Human is the better choice here. Iv built 5 rager builds as i like their versatility. Humand make the best multiclass Rangers. They bring the most to the table.

Extra feat (very important)
+1 skill per level (important to keep rog skills/UMD maxed)
Human Versatility adds to all aspects of this build (+dps/skills/saves)
Human healing amp is +30% plus Ranger Devotion plus Maximize plus Devotion item = 250+ Cure Serious Wounds.
Good base scores (the -2 con is awful for elves)
Human Toughness
