Currently playing a bard and decided I'd like to tr again. Since the bard passive pl is... pointless, can I lr to some more useful class that I don't enjoy playing, like barb, and then tr back to whatever I want to play next life?

It seems like this would work immediately with no timers or other issues. I just wanted to check with someone who has done it to make sure there are no issues.

If so, this would be a great way to get pls in those classes we want as pls without having to play classes we don't like or simply don't fit our play style.

Thanks for any feedback!

You can do it, but unless you're some bard/barbarian combo, it's going to take you a week and 2 hearts.

You need to make yourself at least a 10 barbarian/10 bard to get the barbarian PL (barbarian is before bard on the class list, so you'll get barbarian if they're tied). That'll take you two +5 hearts and a week if you're 20 bard, since there's a week cooldown on LR/GR.

The good news is that TR is on a separate timer from LR/GR, so you can TR immediately after doing the second LR.

Oh where is that thread on 15/5 Sorc/Past-life TRing... Well, maybe 14/6 for newer classes... Takes a +5 lesser heart.

And for anyone crying P2W.... [redacted]!

This is more like pay not to lose. ;) As in lose all those hours playing a bard to 20, only to realize you want to TR again and the bard pl is absolutely useless.

It's pricey but doable. I just messed up an LR so I have to wait till this weekend to LR and TR again.

It's not that I LR'd wrong, I took one too many levels of a class and had to fix it with a +3 I had in bank THEN do a +5 this coming weekend and then I TR straightaway.

So as mentioned, 2 +5s can work for you. Lucky that Barb is b4 Bard or it would cost you 2 weeks, 2-+5s and, 1-+1 heart :P

Good luck, I don't blame you, the extra hp and extra hp at level 3 is more useful than Bard Passive PL.

I think Bard Passive Past Life is quite useful... if you TR into Bard :)

Does the active portion of the bard pl increase as you level up? (The inspire courage 3/rest)

While the passive version may not seem like a big deal especially if you are not TR'ng into another Bard Life

You were a Bard in a past life. You occasionally find yourself humming a merry tune. Each time you acquire this feat you gain +2 to saves vs. enchantments and illusions. You gain 1 bard song usage. This feat can be stacked up to three times.

The active one is useful even if the Inspire Courage does not grow with you.

You recall more about your past life as a bard. You have +1 to all Charisma based skills, +1 to the DC's of your Enchantment spells, and can Inspire Courage three times per rest. (Activate this bard ability to rally your companions, giving them a +1 morale bonus to saves against fear effects and a +1 morale bonus on attack and weapon damage rolls before enhancements.)

What it does though is allows you a unique opportunity as these songs do work with the Fatesinger ED. That means you have an opportunity to twist in song abilities.

But I agree it will take at least 2 LRs with +5 level changes to get a different class on a Pure 20 Bard.
