Anyone having trouble putting glaciation spell power on random items that aren't shields/armor? This is in reference to the Eveningstar vendor, not the harbor one since it only goes up to like 70.

you cannot put anything that is not shield/armor weapon into the alter. Also beware it will increase min level. Pretty much nerfed hard if you ask me.

Ice Games recipes function on weapons.

Eveningstar's Midwinter Festival recipes function on shields, armor, robes, and outfits.

I believe you can also use the Midwinter Festival's Glaciation recipes to further increase Festival Glaciation that you have already placed on a weapon through the Ice Games recipes.

Unless you read DEV traker and what Feather has said about it.

Say I have an unrelated question for yeah Feather. You planning to add more recipes and up the Cannith Crafting Levels relatively soon? Seems like you folks should add stuff to the crafting with all the general loot changes and the cap raise to level 25.

What happened to allowing the Glaciation recipes apply to clothing (cloak, helmets, etc)???

what i got from fos explanation was that glac now is basically to consolidate ..it wont raise ml if you restrict the glac to the weapons pwr lvl ..so sucky for twinking ..but still nice to add to stuff.. less swapping

Got ya, guess I trusted some of the Lammania posts from people over there, but they were horribly wrong it looks like :)

Looks like you can not do this. So either upgrade a weapon from risia and carry over to eveningstar or put the glaciation on armor/shield.

That's a silly and very limited functionality. Who even use none named armor after level 16?

Just tried this. Took an Ice Games Festival Glaciation +78 to Eveningstar. When I try to put it in the trader window he rejects it. I get the message "This Trader does not want your "+6 Combustion Dagger of Cold Mastery"

So looks like the highest weapon we can craft is +78 Spell Power. The traders only taking Armor and Shields which is pretty useless for casters :(.

Currently, the Eveningstar vendor rejects weapons, regardless of if they already have Festival Glaciation on them or not. As this does not seem to be working as intended, I hope you look into getting it fixed. Makes the festival worthless for a lot of people, myself included.

This Dev Team....

I have a Scepter with missing Superior Glaciation IX (well missing 84 Cold SP after change) that will NEVER be the same as it was.

Risia got royally elfed w/o even a kiss.

I wouldn't even bother with it mate.

Any thing you do has a high chance to get changed into something you don't want or wouldn't use later.

Can you put the Eberron recipes into the Risia alter?

Oh well.Guess ill have to join the whinning team this time, as much as i hate it.
Harbor games still fun stuff.
But midwinter games...The race is nice! I like it.But why doing it?It only upgrades armors.
I can understand beign able to use it on lowbie armors / shields.
But i certainly cant understand why even adding high level recipes.Nobody uses random lootgen armor at high lvls.Or at least the majority of people dont.
Wich caster is going to give up a easily acquired spidersilk robes (not mention other stuff that people consider as 'better') to wear a random lootgen thing for Glaciation.
I was looking forward to farming this event to add Glaciation 120 to my random lootgen necklace like it was possible on lam.The event took forever to came wich is ok, provided it would come as expected but instead it came underrated.

not meant as a insult

to citate my grandmother:
believe doesnt mean knowledge, believe just means you are d***
(german, glauben hast ned wissen, glauben hast bled sei)

she still loves to say it when i dunno where i put something and start guessing.

And you guys also look really lost atm.
is there even someone who knows what build goes live and what corrections in it are made?

The current bugs of the festival where live 2 weeks ago, why did nothing get fixed?
not even the ultimate embarrassing error in the speak options with the reward guy..
and really after so much forums roar about the +4ml text of IcyBurst one would think you take the few minutes to bring it into a form that does not imply +4ml..

from what i see it does not look like you bother to fix anything at all
so when do we get the message that everything is WAI?

Unless you read DEV traker and what Feather has said about it.

If you read the DEV tracker and what Feather has said about it you will find that, indeed, Festival Glaciation was nerfed hard by the incorporation of ML increases. Before U16, old Glaciation effects translated into spellpower with U14 with no ML increase. Then the items had the glaciation festival effects wiped from them by a bug (a rather big coincidence considering the nerf that followed) and the motes/recipes refunded.

So, Glaciation will increase the ML of random gen weapons when you apply one that would exceed the current ML of the weapon if it appeared on a lootgen weapon by itself, without a suffix. Also, you can no longer place Risia glaciation effects on the Eternal Wand of Frost.
EDIT:

Ice Games recipes function on weapons.

Eveningstar's Midwinter Festival recipes function on shields, armor, robes, and outfits.

I believe you can also use the Midwinter Festival's Glaciation recipes to further increase Festival Glaciation that you have already placed on a weapon through the Ice Games recipes.
While I could indeed apply the original Risia Glaciation upgrade to a random gen weapon, it didn't allow the Midwinter Festival Glaciation to be placed on it.

Is the bug of not being able to put weapons in the Midwinter festival barter to upgrade them going to be fixed?

Last word was that it would come with U17. U17 isn't here, so no need for new news...
