anyone run this lately and notice the sheer amount of new traps?

Did you talk to the hobgoblin at the beginning and agree to work with him? If you work with him, he goes and disables all the traps ahead of time, if you fight him all the traps are active.

. . .thank you very much, we are not letting our trapper talk to people anymore, she ****ed him off and i was curious as he has never been hostile before.

If you have a rogue, its better to fight him, since then you will get the Ingenious debilitation bonus.

a lot of players refuses to wait for the trapping if they can bypass it :p

I would seriously wonder if you were talking about me, but seeing as how I've never actually grouped with anyone in this particular quest, it can't be me. I do, however, **** him off on a pretty frequent basis. :)

For all the times I've run this, I have NEVER had a group that wanted to do the traps. It turns an easy quest into a nightmare of waiting for the trapper to find and disarm everything. You could do this quest twice in the time it takes to do one trapping run.

A rogue ran this with me, asked if it was ok if he did the traps, for parts, i said sure. he passed all of his loot for thx. i love rogues!

If you fight him at teh start do you still need to fight 2 bosses at the end?

Even then 15% is not worth the extra time that trapping takes on elite...if 2-3 traps, sure, but there are a ton, and the party needs to wait for a lot of them....with bravery you are getting 200-300% bonuses, an extra 15% is not really worth the hassle...it's probably like 600xp.

Maybe on normal or hard when the party can just easily run through them, and no bravery means 15% might actually matter.

in a pug where i was the trapper, two high wis folks walked ahead of me spotting and searching... didn't take long at all that way.

It's faster and more XP to do the quest twice than wait for Ingenious Debilitation.

And more boring. There are people who want to avoid over repetition.

@brattyone: no its a guildy :)

and if you fight that guy in the begining you dont have to fight him at the end, you do however miss out on the second end chest if you fight him at the begining.

and yes the sheer amount of traps make it not worth it. better to run it twice. i could not belive all the traps i had never seen before, goes from like none to 11+.

Technically, (ok, overused and usually used incorrectly, I only use it because traps ARE quite technical :D) the traps are still there when you choose to fight the 2 guys at the end...they are just disarmed already. You can actually see them if you choose that option, they are there just not active.

i soloed that quest yesterday on elite. bought a rogue hire and chose to fight the guy in the beginning, which meant getting the traps. took me 30 minutes to complete and it was a fun challenge with no deaths. i was a bit annoyed with the spammed glittering dust and displacement on the casters who would heal up fast, but the challenge was what i was looking for and thats what i got. in 30 minutes i got just shy of 14k with max xp. the xp in that quest is kinda meh, but its not about the xp to me.

You should totally let that trapper do the talking at the end of Prey on the Hunter.

Totally.
