When is it okay to start farming quests? Epic levels questions

I'm level 22, and I'm feeling the pressure. You need so much exp, and although there's plenty of quests to run, I know to stay away from the big ones like Dun'Robar until I cap, so I can max out the much more expensive ED exp bars. So how does one cap to 25 without running the big exp quests? What quests are good to run to reach level 25?

Last life, my guild and I managed it by running most of the epic quests in the game once on hard and once on normal.

I do everything once on EN, get all the explorers and whatever slayers/rares I get while looking from the various areas (that alone works out to over 500k) and then do EH quests until I'm capped.

If you want to farm a quest, last stand in the red fens is actually really good xp. Not as fast as Dun'robar, but it is definitely more enjoyable. Takes a little more time for about the same amount of xp. Plus, you get 3-4 chests.

I run all old epics once on EH, all eveningstar epics once on EH and once on EN (or once on EE and once on EN if I'm trying to get favor while leveling), do all the explorers in king's forest, some in the demonweb. 4 or 5-star all the eveningstar challenges at an appropriate CR. That normally is enough.

ive got all but 3 destinys done and never xp farmed anything...just ran lots of quests trying to get epic ings and items from evening star...and still dont have everything i want

Here is a guide to leveling 20-25 Epic cap I wrote up and tested.... Its intent is to minimize repeats and fend off the single quest grind.... for now :p

^This^ Unless you feel the need to max out destanies ASAP, just farming gear, Ings and tokens will yield a **** load of xp, all for doing the same thing you're (presumably) going to do after capping xp.

Epic wiz king is great xp as well with optionals on epic :)

It's not if you farmed it on heroic levels (which is IMO the better idea as I'm yet to form a group that can split up and speedrun EH WK. EN may well be the better difficulty as mob HP is ~60% lower).

Assuming 8 heroic runs, diminishing returns on optionals will be at 60% on your first epic run. So while the completion XP will be good, the XP/min won't be amazing.


I suggest something like this. This isn't max speed but has a lot of variety. Start in your primary destiny but swap out of it at level 5 - return to it for EEs though.

20-21: EH Carnival 1x each. EH Spinner chain including Into the Rift 1x each.
21-22: EH VONs including the raid. EH Eveningstar chain. If first life, farm some commendations in King's Forest explorers.
22-23: EH Schindlyrn chain and Demonweb chain. (Start looking for an EH CITW group once flagged if you feel you can handle it - EH CITW is on par with EE Battle for Eveningstar in difficulty). EH all old raids you flagged for (Chrono, DQ, VON again if off timer, LOB, MA). Demonweb explorer (this is SERIOUSLY lucrative for XP as the explorers are so close to each other. Don't feel you need to cap it, but do a fair number and remember falling off the edge randomly teleports you somewhere, often in sight of an explorer point).
23-24: Netherese chain EH and EN. Druid's Curse chain EH. Eveningstar chain EE. Desert epics EH (EE if you can get an extraordinary group). VON 1-4 EE.
24-25: EE Fens, Carnival, Schindlyrn, Demonweb (above average group only). If you don't already have one from a past life, Eveningstar challenges for the level 24 cloak you want from them (most builds want one even if they won't wear it fulltime). Also eveningstar challenges until you have an above average thrower from them. If not capped after that, try to set speed records on EN runs of random things.

Agreed did not think about that on heroic. But I usually skip wiz king for the most part on rein since the necro quest optionals can jump you like 2 two levels in..cursed crypt if i remember right. I guess its all on what you run and skip but Sir has a good point :)

I also think some folks forget about there are other epic quests not just eveningstar. And they are no where near as tough as they used to be..so plenty of xp to go around you dont have to get it all in motu :)
