Not sure if its just me or what but lately I have noticed that I have a problem hitting the critter directly in front of me. Yesterday I was fighting a mob of trolls with my monk and jumped over the front line fighters to get to the casters, started wailing on one of the healers, (of course I was immediatly surrounded, no problem for my monk with heavy fort) when I noticed that instead of dying the thing was actually healing despite the damage numbers floating up my screen. Thats when I realized that despite the fact that he was focused in the orb that the damage was being dealt to the 2 that were on either side of me instead of the one directly in front of me! This is not the first time this has happened just the first time that that I really paid attention. Not sure what is going wrong but it sure sucks when you need to kill that caster and everyone but him is getting the damage.

The divine casters do heal themselves so that mY have been part of the prob. Also try tweaking your positionining a little sometimes. Just a little twist in either directipn can cause you to hit other targets.

There seems to be some physics issues building up again, I've noticed a lot more choppy type actions, and latency like issues as far as mobs go. IE: Not hitting mobs in definate swing and weapon range consistantly, slow/inconsistant mob spawn rates etc. It's definately worse than it was over the last couple of months. It might be part of the reason for the more common server bounces they're doing, trying to stem the tide till they can get a fix worked up and put in place.

Agreed - and another syptom is if you're in too close. You can actually miss Mobs who are EXTREMELY close to you - and not a white-text "Miss", I mean no hit or miss text whatsoever.
It seems to be precisely the same effect you see if you are standing with your nose to a door and the game says "you are not facing door" - you are actually interacting on the other SIDE of the door as far as its physics are concerned.
I suspect these no-white-text misses are because you are swinging behind the mob as far as the game's concerned. Backing up one step puts you back into focus, but then they step forward again, so you have to keep adjusting.

This isn't new. From day 1, it's always been true that having a monster targeted and directly in front of you was no guarantee that it was what you would actually be swinging at. I've been living with this for almost 7 years now.

This is what I think was happening to me. The troll I was trying to hit was right in my face, nose to nose, but I wasn't hitting HIM, was hitting everything BUT him. Also I have noticed that with my Arti it takes awhile for my shots to land sometimes even thou I am close to the monster that I'm shooting at. Also even with auto target breakables turned off and auto target monsters on I still seem to hit the barrels/boxes as much as the monsters.

Yeah. Last night I was having trouble hitting stuff. I wasn't getting any miss text. Just nothing. Also had it happen on UMDing scrolls. I would cast and nothing. No roll, just wasted time. Same with my assassinates. I did notice some rubber band assassinates so I attributed it to lag (probably on my end). This wasn't the usual miss because of being too close. It was happening a lot. I think there was a type of lag where my system would record the action but it wouldn't get sent to the server??? Something like that.
Anyways, I can confirm that I too had some issues last night.

Doubt that. They didn't start to have hit detection issues until Mod 3 when they made changes.
Pre that you had no issues at all getting proper hit detection on mobs, even running ones.

Of course individual connection latency is an issue as well. But I'm noticing more problems with melee attacks on mobs directly in front of me within weapon range than I have in a while. It seems to getting worse each and every week now though... Something is up IMO....

Try hard targeting the mob before or while moving to it, and see if that helps. (Tab or right-click target. The selection indicator at its feet will get a little taller.)
