I think it is time the Devs considered increasing the Guild Level Cap past 100. There are a number of good arguments for this as outlined below:

With the changes to account size affecting guild renown/decay, guilds are enjoying a steady increase in levels - it would seem a pity to have such resources being wasted. More people, running more content, picking up more renown should be something that is encouraged and awarded.
An increase in the Guild Level Cap would also allow for the Devs to introduce larger, more prestigious guild ships. I mean, sure the hot tub in the current L85 ship is sweet and all, but I'm looking for a disco floor and a shiatsu massage centre on my airship as well! Of course, the larger airship would also have more hookpoints for more amenities and the such as well ;) My suggestion is a L105 guild ship, that needs to be bought with Astral Diamonds (approx 2000)...
With +5 tomes being added into loot tables, an increase in Guild Level Cap should also open up additional guild rewards such as being able to purchase gold-seal +3 stat shrines in order to even out stats. Also superior resistance shrines would be something to have as a reward at the higher guild level. Maybe even resistance shrines for Force and Light damage

In all, I think it would promote guilds to recruit more, help newbies and create a friendlier, more inclusive play-environment for DDO fans!! :D

I don't know if you've been paying any attention to the Guild Renown change thread, but it's 96 pages of "Guilds shold be allowed to level past 100, but only for bragging rights with no functional benefits" (and a lot of "Turbine, Y U Hate small guilds!?")

Because there are so many level 100 guilds running around?

This must be a sarcastic topic suggestion........

Oh well where there is a profit to be made by adding something to the ddo store turbine will generally add it. Dont see why any 1 would care tbh, doesnt effect any 1's game play except those that lvled the guild that high and actually bought the ship. Sounds good to me.

Actually... I'm curious.. at lvl 100... a guild obviously can't advance... but do they bank all the renown they get to go against the instant renown decay they deal with?

Going to 105 or 110 is actually not a bad idea in that it gives them cushion from falling due to renown decay at 100 and drop to 99. Giving them additional ship items/benefits... I really don't care to get into. However, if they were lvl 101 for example..they have a whole level to decay away and not be dinged.

Of course, in that Guild Renown Decay thread... I've already stated they should just do away with renown decay... that is my opinion as a guild leader of a lvl 66 guild who just did a massive roster clean-up / wipe. I still feel that it should be removed from the game too btw.

Anyhow... this got me thinking...so I'm just asking.

You keep gaining renown, it does not hard cap, or so said Overraided when they made 100th.

Nope.

The Elemental Union of United Workers (or EUUW) would like to note that very large ships are hard to move and would require a re-negotiation of their contracts.

Paying the workers was a 1 time deal, not a hiring, we buy you then you work for us forever
EUUW you have been struck down, you choose to work when you joined the airship service and now you are stuck here!
The End.

If those are my choices; Death would be preferable.

If I were a worker, I'd rather spite you and die to make you suffer without the bigger ships.

How would that work since we have had the 85 ship long before the renown changes?

There already is near bupkis in level 86-100 rewards for guilds anyway. If they wanted to add anything, they could add it there.

Doesn't really seem to be any purpose served in adding more guild levels.

Really? A lvl 100 guild member is crying? If it is so terrible and you want to work and make renown count, why not join a lower level guild and help them. Were you in that guild all 100 levels? If not then you really didnt earn much more by any means.

Yes. Not only that, but the renown bar breaks through its margins and keps on going to the right edge, looks pretty silly. I'd be up for moar guild levels just so that **** gets fixed lol.

Agree with increasing the guild level cap.

Disagree with offering substantive rewards for that accomplishment. If there are substantive rewards for achieveing such levels, then we are right back to where we were with the old decay system that divided players into desirable and undesirable based on how much renown they earned.

Make levels over 100 have "bragging rights" only rewards, like announcements, cometics, temporary/consumable items, minor conveniences, etc. Then I can support the idea.

Im all for improving DDO into a world class MMO...

However i can not see increasing the guild levels until Turbine is actually able to formulate a sustainable long term plan for the Guild System. Until they can actually do that, i would say No. Just more problems then solutions.

Rebuild the whole Guild System to function advantageously for all of DDO IMO. THEN look at increasing/improving it.

There is Much room for improvement before u even get to Lv 100.

A Ship buff bonus of 20 percent for Slayers using a Ship Gunner Amenity that lasts for 2 hours.
