I submitted a proposal to the devs almost 3 months ago, (and kept it out of the public eye) about a new airship purchase/ delivery & amenity system.

I have yet to have a response, so I decided to go public with my idea. :cool:

__________________________________________

Let's start with the basics.
1) Any size guild, will be able to purchase any ship style floor-plan currently available.
The current system of acquiring hook-points and amenities remains as is.
So a guild could have a huge lvl 80 airship, but only have the hook points allotted as per the current guild level.

2) A guild (through the ddo store) could purchase Gold Seal amenities one or several levels above their current one. And in some cases the maximum allowed (5% XP shrine for example)

3) Decay buffers. Any guild could purchase Gold Seal decay buffers of 10/ 25 or 50%.

4) New hook-points to replace unneeded altars;
As per a devs video about the changes to augment systems being done in your backpack vs using an altar, that would free up a few hook-points.

New hook-points I've proposed;
PvP pits
Guild Message of the Day (shown in artwork to follow text)
Training mobs (a Bugbear, kobold, wil-o-wisp, whatever) to replace dummy.
House Cannith WF representative to give a disable. open lock buff.
House Dennieth Representative to give a Melee DC buff (trip, sunder & shield bash).

5) New ship colors, and combining of sail cloth, fin options.

ALL ships would have a "Guild Plaque" with name & guild level marquee.

I am aware that high level guild members here on the forums would argue, that a lvl 20 guild can purchase a Floor-plan that they have worked hard for, but the same can be and has been said about many things (+3 &4 tomes as an example) being sold in the store.

Since its introduction, Guild Housing has been wonderful, but it's time to give it a little upgrade.

I submitted this idea back in September 2012, and have had no response, it's a win/ win for everybody. And should earn it's place as a serious consideration.

Thanks for your time, and HAVE A HAPPY HOLIDAY.

Sorry but the current system for getting a ship floor plan is fine and I dont know if many would care to add a pvp pit to their ship there is more I could say but I have an interview on skype to get ready for.

You are the second person suggesting that my idea replaces our current system.
It does not, it's an alternative.
Happy Holidays Uska :cool:

This is a great idea Ferd, there is no harm done as far as I can see with regards to guilds having not "ground out" the necessary renown to purchase a larger ship. After all, the amenities remain held at the lower level so all that's really gained is space to expand.
The idea of different hook points is good too, variety is the spice of life after all.

All in all it's an opportunity for Turbine to gain a little income, probably without a p2w uproar.

/not signed, getting different ships is part of the fun IMO, your suggestion would lead to only the highest level ship ever being bought no need for any of the other ships at all.

2) A guild (through the ddo store) could purchase Gold Seal amenities one or several levels above their current one. And in some cases the maximum allowed (5% XP shrine for example)

Not sure what you mean here, sound like what we have now.

3) Decay buffers. Any guild could purchase Gold Seal decay buffers of 10/ 25 or 50%.

Kind of ok with this if and only if they add it the way other buffs are done now, as in, you can buy gold seal ones at a lower level if you want but still can work for a higher guild level and get the buff then with in game plat.

4) New hook-points to replace unneeded altars;

Mostly /signed and make the planes caller useful while they are at it, add FR as an option at the very least. There are no unneeded alters just ones you choose not to use someone else may like them just the way they are.

Either way can take it or leave it, I personally do not use colors on the ship, and I know my own guild name and level, now if they let us name our ships that would be cool.

Not really the same upgrade tomes make your toon better, having a big ship is just bragging rights, so yeah being able to pull out the check book without “earning it” seems a bit lazy IMO.
