I would be surprised if anyone that both has a mac and is interested in playing ddo hasn't already installed a windows partition, but I'd be interested in seeing how it runs on the mac side of my powerbook just to see how it does.

The good new is if they do make a mac client, mac users may not have some of the old code that causes the memory leak.

as long as they actually keep up with it, and don't just toss out a craptastic thing and call it a day to squeeze some cash from the lin's.

Considering they're dropping localizations due to low usage I'm not sure a mac client will live long.

I doubt that any rumored Mac code would be .NET 1.1 based like the PC client, which seems to be a source of memory release problems.

They'll have to work to come up with their own leaks... :D

Well, I'm a mac user, yes, I use it to work (main) and pleasure (second), for more than 20 years, so I'll be very pleased if there will be a mac version to remove the PC partition on my macbook, sorry, I don't dislike PC, I dislike Windows, a OS with a lot of problems and bugs... wait... no, oh my god!

I think a Linux version would be better, but they have to start somewhere. ;)

Given that the engine comes from another company, this might be a good thing - in regards to memory leakage (yet, with every version of engine they ever used, we know it is Turbine's coding and not the engine).

Somehow, I think it will be a hodge-podge of mangled code ran thru an interpreter so it will be slower (yet more stable :p).

Great, i would love to see a native mac client for ddo.

I have it running now again with wine but a better and easier solution is very welcome.

Go for it Turbine ;-)

That's what I'm thinking. My guess is they're porting lotro and ddo is simular enough to be included when they port it. Probably somewhere near getting 2 for the price of one.
