Here's what was odd:

1) Vampires phasing in and out at light speed.

They're not even targetable in the brief time they touched down before going back up into a bat cloud. Just phase in, phase out, phase in, phase out really, really quickly. The only solution I could find was to throw down webs everywhere.

The caveat here is that I don't think the priests exhibited this behaviour; just the knights and spawn. I'm not certain that's the case since our group separated for efficiency, and speaking for at least myself, every time I saw a priest I freaked out and webbed or sunbursted it.

I wonder if this problem is related to the 'scorpions are less annoying' fix.

2) The final boss fight had 1 of the 4 vampires consistently bug out.

He would turn into gaseous form, and stay there. For a long, long, time.

The ghetto fix we used was to kite him (he still aggro'd, you can see his untargetable name plate) to the chamber you drop down into (with the golems and quells), and then if he didn't fix himself we'd ddoor and come back. This worked after about 2 mins each run.

3) Blades constantly having the spinning animation on the West side.

This was a problem when I last ran Vol months ago and I didn't actually check it. That said, I'm making this thread, so should mention it as I bet it's still happening.

You used to be able to use skill to time it. Now you have to guess when the blade is not "really" spinning though still appearing to spin. i.e. blind luck.

I appreciate only a handful of vets go that side anyway, and usually for the trap bonus or due to soloing, but it was weird.

Been like that for months, another fix that worked wonderfully.

Same on Thelanis with one of four at end buggy. I'll test it six more times tonight!

Did Vol 6 or 7 times yesterday, sometimes I could kill them all before 1 bugged out, a couple times I had to wait. You don't have to DDoor or run around. Just stand in the end room and it will reappear after a couple minutes. Pretty annoying though.

When turbine fixes something that doesnt need a fix.

ran vol into the ground 2 nights ago. IIRC... the vampire phasing issue is being caused by non-caster vampires being confused and thinking they should be able to cast, so they phase out instead of casting, causing the rapid-fire phasing. (it's also supposedly been fixed internally and the fix will go live with an upcoming patch or update) i've noticed that *if* you can manage to tag em with some damage, they tend to usually settle down for their ***-kicking and phase alot less. anything AE is great for this. i duo-ed with my druid and my husband's barb, and we didn't have any issues with the lesser vampires.

as for the boss fight... have they been amped up recently? i've run vol numerous times across many different lives and characters, and i honestly cannot remember experiencing the greater command spam i endured on our BB streak run the first time thru. i swear i spent far more time flat on my back than actually fighting, but we finally got all 4 of em. our next run thru we had one of them disappear as has been described here. he was invisible, but his name was still visible... and we realized that my AEs were hitting him. i spammed firewall and body of sun, and hubby spammed cleave, and even tho we couldn't SEE the last boss, we were hitting and hurting him and killed him to finish the quest.

TL;DR it's gonna really suck if you're trying to solo it on a straight melee, but if you have any form of AE, it's not any harder than it was before.

Actually I did this on my fvs, putting down bb and they did get damaged and then would just disappear and have to wait few mins for them to reappear, its the red ones, the ones you need that do it.
Idk how you did it but we couldnt dmg them with anything when they disappeared.
