a guildie and myself have both noticed that renown as end reward or chest reward is not showing up as much.
shroud chests had hardly anything. usually its really good.

is it just us or have more people noticed?

Watch your character level, and the maximum level of others in your group. I know as your own level gets much higher than the quest level that renown goes down. I think if renown also scales back like experience does, where the highest level in the group is the determining factor.

I definitely see less renown in the shroud these days. It doesn't seem to matter whether I am on a level 20 or 25, if there is someone level 24-25 in the group, there is just no renown in the chests. I'd be interested to hear if someone has done a run with all toons level 20 and down, what their renown drops were like.

Base chance for renown is around 50% (IIRC), it drops by around 20% for each level you (or the highest level in party) are above quest level. There was a post with the basic mechanics from either Eladrin or MadFfloyd a long time ago.

I've noticed that it is dropping a lot less for me, and I run primarily Epic Content.

Just did a VON 3 and only 2 heroics, yesterday--1 heroic.
Usually I see reknown in most of my chests, of a different variety--it's been about 5 days since I've seen anything but a heroic in a chest.

There have been recent guild changes and part of that includes an increased ransack penalty for 24 hours after your guild gains a level. The topic is under official discussions. If your guild gained a level that may be it. This hold true even if your guild gained a level and then lost it the next day due to decay. The penalty is in place for 24 hours.

As for shroud, I believe having higher levels in your shroud reduces drops. I ran a shroud a few days ago where the leader capped the allowable to level 20 and I got renown like I used to get before U14.

20% base at level, -4% for each level above quest/chest level the looter is. A level 20 in a level 17 quest has an 8% renown drop chance in chests.
End rewards is (was) 50% and supposed to increase based on length of the quest. I'm not sure that increase on the end reward got fixed to work or not.

If you have just gotten a level, the current test changes reduce your renown drops when you level up. The "daily" level limit is 3, but as soon as you level once, you are hit with reduced drops.

Nope, my guild has not changed in lvl in 2 months.

And I'm running at level content. I was thinking that maybe it has to do with the amount of reknown my alts have, and trying one with less reknown--you know, in case there is some silly kind of bug with that.

I've actually noticed the exact opposite over the last couple of weeks. I've been getting Impressives and Legendarys on a regular basis, especially for end rewards. Running mostly elite stuff at level though. In fact, I ran 3 Vale quests on elite yesterday and got a Legendary for each end reward. That was crazy but getting lots more impressives lately.

If you were running end game content before U14 you were a level 20 character in a level 20 instance, occasionally doing Shroud at level 17 with a 3 level penalty to your drops, but a ton of chests.

Now with the level 25 cap, very few toons run level 25 content as often as they ran level 20 content before. Even a normal CitW run is only level 24 so you have a renown penalty there, where if you were running ToD or Chronoscope previously, you had no penalty to your renown drops for being overlevel. I think until we see some actual level 25 (normal) content with the same number of chests as ToD, Chronoscope or Shroud, it will feel like less renown than before. There is not a single 6 man quest that is "at level" for level 25 toons when done at normal or hard currently. Epic elite, while quite doable for a number of players, will still eat up more time for the privilege of not having a renown penalty.

Renown is basically vs character level and Quest level. As mentioned in the post above

I noticed a very significant renown decrease after our guild has been fluttering in between 94 and 95 for the last month since the new renown changes

I posted this on the original guild renown changes thread and it was said there is not less renown in-game by Vargouille.
It was then confirmed a week or so later with the recent renown changes that upon gaining 1 guild level there is like a less than half renown drop. Vargouille had a few posts in the past couple weeks.

This new mechanic is in-line with the new 3 Guild Levels/ day Max possibly attainable vs 6 previously. Before this change it was upon gaining 2-3 levels per day that the renown would drop in % rate. This above mentioned mechanic has also been in-game for some time but has not affected guilds as much as in its present state due to guilds not gaining more than 1-3 levels per day once reaching 40's-50's + levels.

here is vargouille's quote from the Original thread.

Renown drops are reduced by less than half if you've gained one level in the past day, at the original or increased test rates.

If you gained ten times as many renown drops before leveling, that would definitely be beyond what we expect (or ridiculously bad luck). If it feels like it was twice as much before gaining a level, that's roughly in the ballpark, if still somewhat unlucky.

So yeah if you run above level old eberron stuff at epic cap combined with your guild gaining a level in one day you will find alarmingly a lot less renown gained.

That renown upon gaining 1 level mechaninc needs to be revised to 2 days. It penalize the smaller and mid sized guilds as the purpose of these whole changes was to make it better for all guilds. possibly 2 levels in one day would be reasonable for all guild sizes considered.

About 2 days ago, after I finished the demonweb quest chain on epic hard as a lvl 25, I got 4 legendary victories from the end rewards. I was gobsmacked, because I normally only get Tales or an Impressive if I'm lucky, so I actually thought that the devs must have bumped up the renown. Meh, no such luck. The next time I did the chain again, I was back to the usual mediocre renown rewards.

Epic quests that have heroic level options (old Eberron) don't give renown end-rewards. Only the new epic quests do. At least that's what I have been told and it seems to be true for the ones I have run.

No change for me. My epic levelled toons bring in hardly any. Mostly only from MotU content. Only rarely from old epic content. My TR/otherwise lowbie toons bring in renown from almost every chest and end reward. Same thing it has done since U14.

It has changed for me, less drops lately.

But... I think it's just part of the randomness of the thing. Sometimes I'm lucky and it drops a lot, sometimes I have a bit of a dry spell like now.

Seems like the last few weeks I've been getting much less renown, so much so that I'm wondering how everyone is managing to keep their guild from decaying (before Mabar.)

I see a lot lower renown types and very few of the biggies. And its not just a few percent here and there, it's substantially noticeable.

Sorry I have no hard facts, just a strong unmistakable impression.
