Hello DDO Brethren and Sistren,

Any of you cleric players noticing this? I hit my aura, get an animation, then no aura. I'd say it's happening to me maybe 25% of the time.

That is because they "fixed it" in update 15.2

From release notes:

The Radiant Servant's Positive Energy Aura and Burst now function regardless of the currently-selected target.

and they rolled a 2 on the fix chart:

I've been dealing with this too. It seems focusing on yourself helps. Hit F1 then aura.
That hasn't failed me yet but I'm also not 100% certain what the problem is.

Yep, basically there was an issue where it didn't work if you had yourself targeted. Now it doesn't work unless you DO have yourself targeted...

It does not work if you have another party member selected when you cast it. It works fine if you have a mob or yourself selected.

In the last update or whatever, they fixed the bug that made it mandatory to target self to get an aura by introducing a new one.

Now as long as you have something targeted you will be able to start an aura, but if you happen to want to start one without anything targeted you will waste a turn ( until it regens ) for no effect.

So always make sure to target something ( yourself, a mob, a breakable or another party member ) before hitting the Aura.

I have noticed this, as well as one other thing.

If I try to cast a mass cure anything while something is beating upon me at a distance of zero, my spell fails most of the time, if not all the time.

I end up having to put some distance between me and those nasty undead in Mabar in order to use mass cure crits, which creates a new problem if I run too far. Namely, some of the mob not getting hit with the spell, which means I have to cast it again (or use a Turn Undead) thereby using more SP or turns than I'd like which means running back to House J more often then I'd like to, thereby not using my time within Mabar as efficiently as possible, which means that I miss out on gathering the maximum mats and possibly missing a dragon hunt.

Whew! What a vicious circle! :D

Similar thread started on release of U15 Patch 2

I noted similar findings to you.

Just a nuisance to have yourself constantly targeted when you want to fire up the aura.

Laters and +1 for the refresher on the topic.

More like an 8.

You can now cast Aura/Burst regardless of your target. However, if your target is dead/unavailable (phased out, for instance) your Aura/Burst will fail.

I am an idiot. I remember reading about this issue now that you all bring it up. But I was on a wizzy life then. So, I apparently chose to ditch the info thinking it would be fixed by the time I was RS II cleric again.

Thank you. I gave out as much rep as I could.

p.s. Still annoying though.
