Yeah, i know, yet another thread about Mabar-something, sorry about that but that's something that surpass everything else in oddness with this event (that i've experienced) and i haven't found a thread about this (if there is one, i apologize for my weak search-fu).

Trying (in vain) to improve my luck with drops in the event i wandered in the 16-20 instance on my level 15 cleric.
I happily run around avoiding other players and, there it goes!, i see Blackbones Warrors spawning from the ground, i kill them and "This mob is too weak ..." lolwut?

The same happened with shadows, wight priests, more blackbones, mummy soldiers and even frostmarrow knights ... always "... too weak ...".

I started examining the mobs before killing them and found the problem: the game was (as of 10 mins ago) spawning the correct "type" of enemy but with a lower CR.

So i had:
CR 8 blackbones (should've been 14)
CR 7 shadows and wight priests (should've been 12)
CR 10 mummy soldiers (should've been 16)
[For reference http://compendium.ddo.com/wiki/Mabar_Endless_Night_Festival_Guide ]

Here's a bunch of screenshots i took (last one showing i'm in instance (E) that's the 16-20 one):

This is just in instance (E), all was normal in instance (D) and a quick check revealed that the shared instance was spawning mobs with the correct CR for me.

Is this "normal"? Is this a shared experience?

Yes, it's happened to other people, myself included. We just exited and reentered in a different level range or the shared area, and it went away.

I got the impression as if there was a number range (let's say 10-13) then *always* the lowest possible number is used - like rounding a number down.

This entire mechanic is ham-handed, to be polite. I can't enter the 20-25 level area solo. As soon as I kill anything, I get a message that makes me feel like a cheater or something. Next thing you know, neg levels. So, I visit the forums to see what's up, and (luckily) find this thread with the solution after wasting an hour of my time. I play this game for fun, and events are supposed to be a draw to making things even more fun, i.e., a change of pace from the dungeon grind. My time is valuable to me, and this event has so far been a major disappointment. After all the opening week issues, only to discover yet another grind with questionable rewards. Time for me to re-evaluate how I spend my entertainment dollar.

I can confirm that in some of the 20-25 instances giant skeletons (of all types) spawn with CRs of 12-14, which - if the compendium is to believed - should not be happening. I have found that swapping numbered instances will apparently solve it, but I cannot say if the issue is with certain instance numbers or not.

Can I add to the odd things list?

No matter how many Vampires I kill I can't get a Fang. I must have killed 40 or so with no fangs.

Are they supposed to be super rare?

Saw this last night entered the instance and everything was too low level however switching instance inside fixed this, after a while went back to the first instance and the correct mobs spawned. Since no one else was around I would suggest that there is a bug somewhere but one which can be easily worked around.

The Level 20 wraps were originally Distuption plus Greater Bane, and they wiped the Disruption.

The new level 24 wraps have a reflex save to the special damage procs effectively making them less dps than the level 20 wraps.

It seems like we are being teased. We are given something worth grinding for, in this case the original wraps, and then they let us grind for it and nerf it after the fact. This same pattern has been seen on the xp and drop rates for the Cannith Challenges. Why do they tease us this way?

They give us something we can be excited about and proud of, then they cheapen it with the nerf bat.

/Sad face

The loss of product confidence is a sad commentary on how great the game could be, but it got nerfed.
