So all the monsters in events get this magic buff - when will it be available to players? ;)
Seriously though, it is frustrating, when monsters in regular (dungeon) quests do not do this (though they do in "outdoor areas"), it seems to be more frequent in events and a way to prolong the grind?
Whack, whack, whack, whack... Oh! The Magic White Hexagon of Invulnerability! Sigh. :(

Usually it's used for when a monster "leashes" and happens when a mob gets kitted too far from it's spawn point. Most (all?) mobs in wilderness areas do this, and some in dungeons do also. It does seem be be used in some additional fashion in mabar (they do also leash as normal for wilderness). I haven't quite figured out what causes it, maybe when mobs are spawned but too long a time goes by before someone activates them? Too many people leave that general area to justify that size spawn?
Whatever causes it I agree it can be frustrating.
