I understand that the instance model for mabar was an incentive to make sure that you get to kill 'level-appropriate' mobs.

Why is it that the 20-25 zone spawns mobs which are too weak to give rewards to level 25, namely ML 20 mobs. Isn't that kinda undermining the purpose of the separate instances?

This thread wouldn't be if it weren't for Carpone.

Edit: I am aware of the fact that the level 20 mobs are spawned by level 20 characters. Another way to formulate the question is: Why are level 20 and level 25 characters put in the same instance?

Probably because there are level 20s in the 20-25 zone.

That's clear to me, I'll amend the OP accordingly. The question is: Why are they designing the instances in a way that toons join who let mobs spawn which are too weak for level 25 toons.

I'd answer your question but it might insult somebody.

No your question should be is Why is it that a lvl 11 is able to get in to a lvl 20 - 25 and grief others?

A level 20 can spawn a CR 18 frost marrow. They should spawn based on the instance's level, not the level of characters who happen to be around.

The opposite could be true as well, as I described here : http://forums.ddo.com/showpost.php?p=4750483&postcount=20 .

I had an issue last night when entering the lvl 20-25 zone. On my lvl 25 cleric, CR 14 Giant Skellies would spawn. I thought all giant skellies were CR 20 or higher. I ran around for 5 mins or so...very few people in that instance, and nothing over CR 14 spawned. I was definitely in the epic zone (100% sure). It was instance 4...I switched to instance 3 and all was well.

Gave up on farming right now because my lvl 10 sorcerer was getting "This creature is too weak to give a reward" on 90% of all the mobs that spawned in the 8-13 instance. Most of the time I was the only person running over the spot where mobs spawned that I killed so I would assume there is something odd going on.

This morning I was doing fine and never had this issue. Now all of a sudden everything is too low level to give rewards. I even popped into the 12-16 instance to see if that would solve it but it was the same thing.

Something seems amiss....

More importantly (IMO) why are there Giant Skeletons spawning that are only CR12? I thought all Giant Skeletons were supposed to be CR20+

This. This would solve level 4s "griefing" (if they are) and other issues (like people wanted restricted zones - how the hell do rez my level 6 buddy then? - this happened as a group of 25s dragged a ton of giant skeles to the dragon instance door right before it was set to open).

I'd be happy if they just made it so only 20-25s can get into the 20-25 instances. I have run into way too many sub 20 mobs in those instances.
