View Full Version : Mabar - Make them stop following me!

So I have a Lvl 8 Cleric. He's quite capable of taking down Mummies, Vamps and Frostmarrows.
And yet, it seems that no matter which level range Mabar instance I head to, I have the same bunch of CR8 mobs following me. Ghouls, Skellies, etc
So .... if I head into the Level 16-20 range Mabar, I apparently cause low CR mobs to spawn, much to the consternation of the high level players there. I have already been politely shoo'ed away (twice).
What's a Cleric to do?
Sigh .... c'mon Turbine, fix or do sumfink. ;)
AND ... the bunch of Epic level players camped outside Delera's tomb in the Level 8 - 13 & 12-17 instances, you're killing us each time we step in and out of the tomb to refresh and recharge. It's like stepping right out into a World War III with giant skellies all round us. ;p
Turbine! Fix or do sumfink! ;)
But it's been good so far, 1.5k motes an hour from a Level 8 toon (not incl. Draugh motes).

the official term for them is groupies, and you've only got your self to blame for being such a rockstar cleric :)
hehe, seriously though, it might be worth a bug report. seems kinda daft to split the instance up into level ranges then have the same mob spawning code as before. probably wont get fixed for this season but it might make it into next season

I'd also like to know how to get around this. Toons at the upper range of a level range have a hard time of it. If we play in our level range we struggle to find mobs of our level and if we go one level up we ruin things for other people.
I solo and keep on the move so I'm not intentionally messing things up but I would like to be considerate.

In a way, this could be some new form of griefing : High-level characters entering instances which are several levels below them - in search for moot err mote.
Who had expected high-level char players to be more honest and fair than other players ?

I wish more high level characters would venture in my level range - better chance of spawning vampires and liches! I'm at lvl 20 and doing fine in the 16-20 region but can't survive long in 20+ so when there's a group of players a lich may spawn... I can take them down easy enough but can't get them to spawn on my own!!!
So more higher levels come on down :~D

I don't believe this is any kind of griefing. I noticed that when I have used Delera's quest as a shrine many times when I exit I load into a different level, sometimes higher or lower.
Just be prepared to run to safety when you exit because chances are it might not be what you expect.
Then just go to Joe Lantern and adjust the instance level to what you want.

I'm not sure that helps ...
I noticed that the in the less crowded instances, when I return to the areas I've passed recently, the low CR mobs have spawned in my absence.
I think our passing through areas is enough to register the mob levels for the next respawn.

It stays at the same level range for me but defaults to Instance-1 everytime I exit Delera's. And them there Epics were camped in Instance-1
Agreed, exit running is the survival strategy but I've nonetheless doid a few times cos the AoE from the Giant Mages were just too much for a lowly Lvl 8 :(
