Any chance for those of us who don't care about Mabar but love the 31% xp bonus that we are missing due to the hurricane getting an extension? Pretty please! :D

Lost power for a whole day. The worst day of my life. There is actually nothing to do without power.
Read a book, please. :)

I vote that they also include Epic XP in the bonus.
Then it would be... epic.

What about extension of Mabar? With millions of people without power/internet I'm sure thousands of your customers are affected.

I feel kinda slimy hoping Turbine does this...like I'm looking to benefit on the suffering of people in the east. :( But I still hope they extend it. Bad turtle!

I suggest heading to walmart or even better a truck station like pilot or the flying j as they will have em cheap. Get urself whats called a car inverter, the wattage depends on what ur running. I think mines like 300 watt or somthing, it powers the laptop.
Anyway plug that sucker into your car and BAM, electricity. Or you could try and find one of those natural gas generators. No way in hell would I use a gasoline one, or petroleum whatever ya wanna call er. Way to much for that machine to guzzle er down.
Oh and xp bonus yes, and you can drag mabar around the parking lot tied to a pickup truck for all I care.

LOL . . . we can't get gas right now, none of the stations have power.

honestly.. you lost a day of playing/grinding because of the weather.
If you get special bonus xp time or special mabar time that would be a little unfair - whatever reason for.
What about all the Europeans during the maintanances/ downtimes? It's ALWAYS in our primetime for playing, the whole afternoon/ evening. Everytime. Do we get special xp bonuses for that? No.
So its a little annoying that you cry about one day of weather-related downtime whilst we have to deal with that at least once per month..

What? You didn't stockpile? Clearly you have not watched enough Armageddon-like shows which teach us what to grab in abundance.....Like the idiot in my town who stockpiled 200 gallons of gas in 40 5-gallon jugs last winter, was smoking on his deck, tossed the butt into the stockpile and boom.

Cool idea. I just flew into Boston today. Didn't look too bad. Not sure how easy that would be for them to do with everything else going on though.
Any day I'm not playing durring "LagBan" is a good day.
But seriously, by the time some people get power back, there will be a thanksgiving bonus going on!
Lets just move on. There will always be another bonus.

Haha, I love how there's always someone who feels the need to comes and say, "no there shouldn't be any [whatever nice thing is being requested]." There are some grumpy people out there.

They must power cars with something different where you're from.
In other news, I'm glad I have a Kindle. At least then I can read in the dark :) until it runs out of power.

Lets see here Turbine never lost power. The game went down for the Mabar update. They did not lose power. And you all think the xp bonus should be extended because you can't get on the Game? Sorry I say no way.

Lets see.
55 people dead (at last count)
4 million+ without power, gas, or water (for the next several weeks)
Thousands who have lost everything and are homeless
Billions of dollars in repairs and rebuilding
And you greedy, grasping, whiny children want a reward ?!?!
Give me a break.
I truly hope everyone at Turbine, and thier familys are ok.
My thoughts and prayers are with those on the east coast who are struggling to rebuild.

There are weather disasters everywhere in the world, but there seems to be no bonus XP for this.
And there shouldn't, there shouldn't be, because most of people would be glad because of disasters, because, maybe turbine will give XP bonus.

With mabar actually being up the xp bonus is kinda worthless to most as there is hardly any grouping

other than just to be a terrible person, what's your reason for this?
Mabar is a limited time event. Thousands of customers cannot participate in this event because they have lost power. Sure, this isn't a high priority compared to electricity, food, and clean water but still people cannot participate in a limited time event.
So what is your reason for "no way?" other than you simply enjoy kicking people when they are down?

You can earn XP any time of year, while mabar is once per year.
Also, you never know when it will get bugged and turned off ;)

Dont get me wrong, I dont wanna say the thunderstorm isnt a serious issue.
But I really dont think that it is reason for bonus xp or mabar extension. Sure, Turbine and possibly most players are from the US and so lots of players might be affected by the loss of power - but no one's giving a sh*t when there's a breakdown, a storm flood, a thunderstorm or anything else in Europe. (Turbine doesnt seem to care about european players anyway)
If I would cry for extra xp every time I cant play and it's not my fault I'd have to open a thread like this at least once a month.

Reason is Turbine was not down due to the weather. It is not their fault you can't play the game. I live on the east coast. Though in a area that was not affected by the storm. So again No Way. Should any of this be extended. As for some one being down not my fault the weather caused you issues. And it is not turbines fault.

Not me, I have power.
But apparently some other people are not capable of expressing concern for an issue if it doesn't directly affect them.

But...
If the world ends according to the Maya, do we get +100% for, say, a month after?
Ummm...
Anyway! :)

I just don't get why anyone would be so fervently against an extended XP bonus regardless of the "reason" or lack there of.
Put me down for /signed for any xp bonus, for any reason, at any time.

I can't agree with you more. A few times every month game is closed because of maintenances.
I'm OK with extended Mabar though. I just don't like when DDO ignores rest of players other than Americans. (though I cannot blame DDO since most of "customers" are from USA. Majority rule.)

Well you know what, my town did get trashed, houses around me have trees through them. I have no power (and no heat) and the power company is estimating that they might get it back on around November 5th.
Cell is also out where I live. Gas is becoming a problem some gas stations don't have power so can't pump gas and others are restricting gas to people with gas cans (for generators), no gas for cars.
I do have internet access from work (about 30 miles from where I live), but no way could I play games. Been on the job 12 hours straight now trying to get things working right and took a minute to look at a few threads (they usually distract me for a bit which is a good thing some times).
I am not worrying about playing DDO, mostly because I cannot. Will I miss Mabar? Seems that way. Would I still like to participate in it? Yes. Would I like for Turbine to consider extending it? Of course because when I can play again I would like to (I was one of those people looking forward to it).
Will I throw a hissy fit it Turbine doesn't extent it to a point when I can play again? No.
However I see no good reason to put people down for asking for such, but I guess to each there own.

You got lucky. I was without power for around 54 hours, and I have friends and family who are still without power after losing it at around 8 PM on Monday.
LOL . . . we can't get gas right now, none of the stations have power.
What you could do, is take your laptop (you have a laptop, right?) over to a local store, plug it into one of their outlets, and settle down there. Not sure what the wireless service is like, though. I was in a Barnes & Noble near my house yesterday and the store was full of people who had plugged in their phones and laptops and who were mooching off of the B&N wireless service. Light, power, heating, books, and a cafe--better than staying home in the dark.

Well, after the big deal made about Irene last year, and then the big "let down" a lot of people didn't take this storm that seriously (myself included). I was lucky because I live on a big hill and generally am fairly well stocked with canned goods and such, but many others weren't.
Maybe that's how half of the Rockaways burned down...
