just think of it: a ranged class that do most like the same as the Deepwood sniper, but it gets BONUS WHEN HE MOVES!!! Just like the class in the "complete adventurer". a master of the RANGED combat (not only the bow) witch is most usefull when moving than the stationary archer... just awesome! no more AA or deepwood sniper, a class entirely focused on RANGED COMBAT, using just his skills and no magic!
what do you think?

I'm just going to assume this is a joke, make a halfhearted chuckle, and then wander away and bury my head in the sand.

Scouts were a dumb idea for 3.5 and they're still a dumb idea for DDO.

There is no need to multpiply beings, and Rangers already fil the theme of wild guy with a bow.
The skirmish ability is not so cool.
Some perks of Scout may be merged into Ranger class (like blindfight), or maybe even some sneak attack for DS.
What they can do is to take a serious look into Pathfinder Ranger and introduce some sulutions from there. \
For example adding imp evasion and quarry at late levels will make Rangers far less "front loaded".
The class never impressed me in pnp and would be a waste of dev time sorry.

I don't think we need scouts in DDO. At least not before a number of other things. In PnP I always found them to be a pretty cool class, a fast roguish nonmagic ranger. But too much overlap atm I think. I think people would rather see warlock or psionics or duskblade, dragon shaman, or dragonfire adept.

No joke here, the class is legit.
The "skirmish" however isn't ranged, it can happen on any attack.
Viable or not, liking or not, it's a rogue hybrid swashbuckling class. (aka less-thiefly)
From that book we got the ninja as a monk PrE, the tempest and the virtuoso, if only on names.
The scout maybe a rogue PrE, since the scout has evasion and trapfinding, which are big toys.
In comparison the spellthief has trapfinding but no evasion, so may be an artificer PrE, theoretically speaking.
The steal spell is kind of original and interesting, whereas skirmish is just a SA in the run (tho still good enough).
That said, the scout has to stand in line behind the warlock and the psion (and races, and PrEs).
Those two seem likely for the next full fledged class, now that druid is out of the way.
