View Full Version : Horc's In The Game

So I've noticed a complete (or near complete) lack of Horc NPC's in the game. No Horc's to fight in quest, no (or few) Horc NPC's hanging out and selling you things in the market place, and, to the best of my knowledge, no Horc hirelings.
Wondering if anyone knows the reasoning behind this. Only thing I can think of is it has something to do with programming issues with the size of the Horcs (though there are minotaurs all over the place and I don't think the Horcs are much larger than the minotaurs).
Just seems odd considering how randomly the devs seem to assign different monster races to fill NPC slots (some choices being fairly silly IMO) while one of the common player races is totally unrepresented.

I'm guessing you've never done the lordsmarch chain, or the other lordsmarch chain or beyond the rift.

Knew there were a handful in there but couldn't remember which chain. Doesn't change the near complete lack aspect of the question.

They were added to the game about 7 months before you joined. (http://ddowiki.com/page/Update_7_Release_Notes) Very little (none?) of the past content was updated to include either H-Orc or H-Elf, and the only content released since was the two Madness chains, Cannith, Spinner of Shadows, and the expansion, of which they're not really fitting in any of it. Lordsmarch is by far the biggest concentration of them.

Half-orc's belong to House T ( Thrarashk ).
I Hope to see access to this house in the Future.

I had no idea they were that new to the game. I can't believe they went so long with so few races. Makes way more sense now. Thanks for the input.

There are Horc's in Beyond the Rift? I know the quest giver is a Horc, but otherwise, I can't think of any.

Shifters, Changlings and even Kalashtar would be more interesting as a new race as far as I am concerned.

...but NPC Horc heads are better used for headbutting rather than haggling.
