I'm sure there have been threads about this before, but I'm not going to search 500 pages of suggestions looking for them just to put in my two cents. I have a couple ideas for Prestiges for existing classes that I think would be worthwhile:
Barbarian: Wilderness Warrior. Not all Barbarians are Berzerkers. There's no reason I can think of that the only prestige for a barb should be a raging damage machine. Think of aboriginal cultures around the world. There are plenty of tough, uncivilized men out there who have other survival talents. This prestige would be the Barb version of a tank, where the emphasis is on Damage Reduction and Physical Resistance rather than DPS. Yes, he would still hit hard, but he would basically be a lightly armored 'tank' that gains the ability to sneak (due to the light armor), swim, and jump a little better than your average metal-clad meat shield.
Artificer: Technomancer. This is an arti who focuses on BUILDING THINGS (what a concept!). He can select options for changing his pet into a mount suitable for the terrain (bird, dolphin, or dog with saddle for ex).
Artificer: Battlemaster II. This arti has developed techniques for surviving when the walls are finally breached and he's surrounded by foes. Defensive Fullisade is similar to Endless Fullisade except that the artificer spins in place (similar to Cleave or Whirlwind Attack) and fires in all directions for a few seconds. Paired with a Flame turret, this can get you out of a jam in a hurry. The duration of the Defensive Fullisade should be shorter, but it should still fire more than three rounds.
