On my artificer, Damage Boost becomes unavailable whenever I click on Endless Fusillade. And vice-versa.
Is that WAI?

Yes, Endless Fusillade is considered an Action Boost, so has a linked cooldown with other class Action Boosts.

Yes, it's the reason Human/Helf arties are somewhat common, human versatility doesn't conflict with action boosts from classes such as haste boost from rogue and damage boost from versatility.

I'm a half-elf, except the versatility lines don't qualify you for Battle Engineer, so I'd still have to take Arty dmg boost II to qualify.
But that's good to know.

Not to derail, but had a question concerning something along these lines. Just recently returned to the game, and I was curious if the boosts available in the LD ED tree conflict with class or racial boosts, or if they're stackable with either.

LD action boosts are the same as the class ones. The description even says that if you have the class boosts already, you can't take the LD ones, IIRC.

I actually chose half elf artificer......for no apparent reason. I should definately respec and take the versatility line.

wow wouldnt it be nice if you could stack damage boost on top of fusillade...not only break out the minigun, but load it with depleted-uranium ammo too :)

what really bugs me is fullisade is 6 seconds, and 2 of them is a loading animation... i rarely feel it's worth clicking the button except in boss fights. if it's an ACTION BOOST shouldn't it go for 20 seconds? *wink wink nudge nudge*

A Fusillade that lasted 20 seconds would be vastly overpowered. But I agree a 10 second one would be awesome.

I could see advance fusillade for 12 seconds as a higher level bonus for battle engineer. Use the same 2 second loading animation followed by 10 seconds of machine gunning.

I realize it would be overpowered at level 6. just making a joke that's how normal action boosts work and the dev just said they considered it one. that said, yes, 10 or 12 seconds would be most welcomed and if somehow magically tier 3 battle engineer got the full 20 seconds I'd do a little happy dance... it's no worse than AA's with manyshot, just shorter timer and limited uses.

It's probably the best race to be, depending on your dilettante (rogue esp), but yeah definitely take the racial versatility. The 1-2 activation of both boosts makes fusillade really quite noticeably stronger.
Looking forward to the Artificer Epic Destiny extending endless fusillade. *hint hint* ;D As it is, I'm running around with the one useful thing from LD, the action boost bonus, but fewer, longer fusillades would be more useful.

i tend to think of Fusillade as an alpha-strike skill, and Damage Boost as your real DOT-boosting ability.
Fusillade has the animation because I think you're' supposed' to use it before combat, to mow down a pack of trash or to really put a hurt on a boss while he's still closing in to melee range. It does less DPS in 6 seconds than even a 20% damage boost does over 20; even less so the faster your base ROF is with repeaters.
If I get jumped and need an immediate damage boost while already in combat, or if I need sustained bonus DPS, I go with Damage Boost. If I just need a good alpha strike, I go with Fusillade. Even though it does less DPS overall, if you can kill a couple mobs with it right off the bat, thats a lot of incoming DPS you've just negated over the course of the fight.
That being said, it would be kinda nice if the duration was something like 6 + your INT or DEX modifier, or INT/2 etc.
