After constant crashes since last update I finally decided to reinstall.
The steps I took:
I uninstalled using uninstall programs in windows 7.(I still see some folders in the turbine folder(do I need to get rid of these?)

I then downloaded the high resolution.

ran the installer, after a short time I got the message cant copy files what do you want to do: abort, retry or ignore, I tried retry 4 to 5 x, then ignore. This message came up aprox 10x during installing

I then got to log in screen, logged in, game updated, but after choosing server, I got the error 201 message.

I read the old post on 201 fixes, and cant copy files fixes(it says to change virtual memory so its high enough to allow 2 gigs(mine is set for min 16mb max is 12265mb) so I dont think that is the issue.

I have re downloaded 2x now with same results.

Any idea on how to fix this?

***NOTE*** I have a working copy on my laptop, its almost the same system as desktop. Is there anyway to make a copy of that folder and just load it onto my desktop?

I've never come across the 201 error berfore, so I'm afraid I can't help with that one. However,

***NOTE*** I have a working copy on my laptop, its almost the same system as desktop. Is there anyway to make a copy of that folder and just load it onto my desktop?

That will work absolutely fine. DDO doesn't really need to install, and is self contained within the "C:\Program Files\Turbine\DDO Unlimited" folder. Grab a copy of the "DDO Unlimited" folder on your laptop, delete everything from the "C:\Program Files\Turbine" folder on your desktop and drop your copied "DDO Unlimited" folder in.

If you're missing a Start Menu / Desktop shortcut, create one pointing to "C:\Program Files\Turbine\DDO Unlimited\TurbineLauncher.exe" or just copy them from your laptop too.

Hope you get things running soon!

(just as a side comment, whenever you get a message like Abort, retry, ignore, that's indicative of a problem right at that point, file or folder permissions, disk problem, transmission problem, installer error, whatever. Once you choose to ignore installing one or more files and continue the installation, you will not have fully loaded all the files you need and may get all kinds of other errors due to that missing file that might misdirect you away from finding the original problem. In fact, error 201 seems to refer to missing or unable to access a file or files, which I bet is because you clicked ignore and may not be related at all to the original problem or the reason you got the abort, retry, ignore in the first place.)

(If you do reinstall successfully or copy from another PC and are still having the same original problems, I'd post your DXDiag report here so smarter people than me can see if there's some hardware/software/driver related bug or performance adjustment you can make.)
