Not sure if someone has already suggested this. Was not able to find any threads on this.
Could you please allow us to reset the quest after completion. There is no need to make us run all the way back to get reward and re-acquire quest. This only hurts solo players because groups are allowed to hold the window. Sometimes people do not feel like running in groups and should not be penalized because of their play-style.
Thanks.

So you are suggesting an option to allow solo players to window farm quests? Isn't window farming "technically" against the rules, since it circumvents quest mechanics? Just saying.
Most window farming is done because of archaic flagging (necro 1 and 2 are prime examples). Would be nice for a dev to bring quests into uniformity (necro 3).

So you saying it is ok to do it with a party but not a solo player. That makes sense.
Just saying.

When he said "technically against the rules", I don't think he meant "perfectly acceptable and endorsed by Turbine".
I believe what he was implying is that; it's more likely that the need for "window farming" would be removed entirely (by fixing the flagging mechanisms), than it would be further enabled for anyone - solo or not.

Even still, that is just necro. People window farm a lot more than that. The do it for GH, Reavers, Necro 4, Vale, etc.
I am just asking to remove the need for that. They already added the reset button. Why not make it so you can use to reset the quest after completion?

That is exactly what I am saying, and that Turbine wouldn't knowingly add new farming mechanics (bugs)

GH - Sure, I'm cool with that.
Reavers - Are you talking about the raid? That will never happen, they want you to buy a pass.
Reavers - Are you talking about Reaver's Refuge? People would just farm SoS and get every armor/rune.
Necro 4 - Cool with that one also.
Vale - Fine, but why? Vale has really good end rewards, same with Necro 4 now that I think about it.
Any quest chain - Shouldn't have the reset button. I think if they did add it to those, they'd have to drop the xp on those quests (i.e. Delera's).
I don't see window farming nearly as much now as the old days. Enough quests/challenges are available that BB and first time bonuses outweigh what you get from grinding a single quest.

Plus there is no need to use "questionable" actions to run most of those quests right away anyway.
For example, in GH or the Vale, walk back 10 ft, drop quest, walk forward, reenter.
For non walk-ups, one person drops quests, another shares, reenter.

I get the feeling OP is more about just saving running around, not bypassing chain or flagging requirements. Farming Bargain Bazaar for Epic stuff is a good example...it's a pretty annoying run to the quest giver and back. In a group you can window farm it to spare having to do that run. Nothing particularly exploitative about that, just saving a couple minutes. I know I wouldn't mind being able to do that by myself.
That being said, there are plenty of other things higher up on my wants list.

Way back in the day, I'm talking 06 or 07, it was explicitly stated that it was perfectly acceptable by the Devs to window farm. The question was asked in relation to farming the very last quest in Threnal and it's chests via window holding -that should tell you how old the thread was. Now, their stance on this may have changed - or at least their willingness to say so publicly. However, the only time we've ever had a Dev comment on window farming it was to say it was perfectly kosher.

Maybe I wasn't clear, I agree to the concept of a "reset quest" button on non-chain quests.
Haven't run epics since last couple updates, isn't EBB on an 18 hour timer?

I have yet to see an actual Turbine response to the issue of Window Farming. I have buzzed a forum mod, so hopefully we can get an official (and current) response on the subject.
Now as far as the OP suggestion -- i like the idea. It can already be done with any walk-up; the only ones it would change would be non-walk-up quests. And since groups can and do window farm now, and Turbine has taken no action against it (to my knowledge), I see no reason why a solo player should not be allowed to do the same thing. Either its OK for everyone to do it, or its not OK for anyone to do it.
And as I recall, when this new reset mechanic was first bandied about, there was a huge outcry over the rumor that it would nix window farming. I recall dev participation in several threads about it, but not once do I recall them saying either way whether or not window farming itself was allowed. Since this would have been the perfect opportunity to nix it, and they didn't... well draw your own conclusions.
EDIT: Memninja-ed :p

Nope, all non-raid epics now have only a two minute timer.
For no reason other than to make you run back to the quest giver in order to do it again.

Then we'll just have to agree to agree. :p
