Are there any European events that DDO/Turbine will be on?
Because all the nice treats and events are in the US at the moment.
If so please let us know.

That would be an interesting twist. I've never played an MMO that used a non US holiday. Even they Korean MMO's I played went with the US holidays.
Though, going through the events:
I thought Halloween was also an European thing? Though Mabar is an Eberron thing. And the Ice games aren't really specific to a country, just a season (and they come in the summer in the US, half the time). The Cove isn't really a holiday, though it tends to come back around Talk like a Pirate day. Festivult is an Eberron holiday. That just leave the Travelers Egg hunt, which is the closest thing to an actual real world holiday in the game.

ah! like PAX. My mind was stuck on 'events' like the Mabar preview last night. sorry! :D
Are there events like that where WotC attends? Or even WB. Turbine could cling on to one of those.

I hope they do some time, but a cheaper alternative would be to PM me a pup code ;)

I know this is about rl events.
However i always thought DDO missed out on St Georges day. A dragon slaying fest could prove cool!

You obviously haven't noticed the secret mystical text hidden deep within a death aura.

There are indeed events that WOTC are coming to (with Magic TG)
@AZgreentea and Emizand: I Although not the intention of the topic I do like it that you thought of holidays of other countries/cultures like St.Georges day.

There is at least one saint for each day of the year.

yes there is a saint or something going on each day. But certain events do have to potential to be related to DDO
Like this year is the year of the dragon and next year is the year of the snake.
and the example Emizand has given is a saint who is famous for killing a dragon.
and the other hand I can imagine that for the developers it would be a hell to bring in one after another special event. But still it would be fun even if it would show in small details.
@ GerardIII: As for the selfcentered comment. Sorry to have to dissappoint on your quick judgement, but actually I wrote this mainly because I read a lot of replies who are very into DDO who find it a pity they can't be on events where Turbine is present at, just because they aren't from the US. Now I have no idea how many non-US players they have, but seeing for example there is a german speaking part in the forum and Germany holds the biggest european gaming event it would seem a nice gesture to the community to come to an event as such.
@ Ap0k: Sorry for wrongly putting your name there. Quickly checking the forum while working isn't a combination that works for me it seems. Again my apologies.

That's my point. Us european (other continents as well) players have to put up with the higher latency, the focus on U.S.A. players and the lack of recognition.
We get 4th of July, Pirate Day, ... like the player base is only located in the U.S.A.

As a sidenote learned Tolero is participating for raising funds for a children hospital.
Anything that supports kids or animals and I am in.
for those who share those thoughts I would say don't hold back to donate
