looking for tips for dc's needed

looking for general tips on what kind of dc's I need I'm level 16 now with my dcs at 30/32/34 I succeed most of the time but have noticed a few fails particularly on control undead which is dc 34 what should I be aiming at for DC's?
oh level 16 PM right now first life and only caster i've played which hasn't been active since before there was PM prestige.

ok ill respond, although im not the best one for the wizie style. i do have one at 22.

i think you should be at a dc of 40 at level 20, and about 45-55 at level 25. the 55 including epic destinies ofcourse.

You're fine; at level 16, assuming Human (add 1 for Drow, subtract 1 for WF etc), off the top of my head you can have:


18 base
+4 levels
+3 class enhancements
+1 racial enhancement
+6 item
+1 exceptional (greensteel)
+2 insightful (greensteel)
------------------------------
35 Int, or +12 Int mod


Assuming you took both feats (Necromancy) and a +2 spell focus item, you should be looking at:

DC = 10 + Spell Level + Casting Stat Modifier + Items + Feats
DC = 10 + 8 (highest spell level you can cast at 16) + 12 + 2 + 2 = 34

You can push that higher with yugo pots (kinda hard to get at 16 unless you TR'd; I'm not sure what level Amrath allows you access), or if you went Drow to even out your Intelligence to 36. I may be missing more, but it looks like you're where you need to be at your toon's level.

my base int is 20 +2 tome +6 item +3 enhancement bonus +4 from levels for 35 int(not counting ship buffs) i'm level 18 now and seem to be having no problem with my dc's on elites I am only first life and haven't got greensteal yet but soon.
my dc without buffs in lich form are now 37 for necro 34 on enchantment (38/36 with ship buffs)
i have greater necro and enchant focus +2 items so it seems I'm about on target and will hit 40 by 20 easy then add gs and epic to that to get it up more. thanks for the general guide lines my first wizard and haven' tplayed it in long time use to playing mellee or archer types.
