Trust me, if you ever accepted any blind guild invites, you wouldn't feel that bored & lonely.

Why didn't you join a guild or channel then? I know you had lots of opportunities.. I remember seeing people ask you about it when we PUGged!

I can see getting bored after that many lives... especially since you seemed to be a power-leveler. Maybe take a break for a while and then try again later?

I have no respect for people who pop up the Who list and send guild invites, why should I join one of those?

Except the one I joined where nothing happened in 3 weeks, I don't know any channels.

I do not recall getting any guild propositions in groups I've played in the last year, only random "pop in your face" ones from unknown people.

I did that before, take a break, try again later, it was just exactly the same thing all over again.

Everyone likes attention. It's a lot more fun to go out with a bang.

Guess it's also kind of a last attempt at finding a reason to stay...

Come to Khyber.

There are some good guilds, as well as a bunch of other lonelyhearts who might enjoy running with you.

Thanks.

I DCed while talking to you on Defense. You need to quit. At least for a while. If you do come back, try joining a mega guild. Sounds like you were in a power micro-guild before.

Take a six month break. At least there will be new content if you come back.

Not telling you what to do but it does sound like you need to find a real life adventure with a partner in real life. Both having the same hobbies, like tennis or cycling or...
and in a mega social gathering place, like a church so that people can pay attention to you.

If you want to go out with a bang, i.e. making an impact why not make an impact in real life? More fun that way and no-reloads..., no cheats, no /death...

Suggestions up to now that I got from PMs/thread that are supposed to make me want to stay.

1. Make friends
2. Join a guild
3. "TR more cause you still suck" A.K.A triple completionist
4. Join channels
5. Get help for your depression

I suppose I could give it all a try...account still up until October anyway. So...

1. Guess we'll see what happens along the way.
2. Who wants me in their guild?
3. Sure I'll TR moar, epics were boring and not all that challenging anyway...and I like to build new stuff...22 lives to go.
4. PM me info, Morfane. That would make two channels (Defense/Nerdrage), any others out there?
5. Maybe.

Transfer to Thelanis, you'll only be bored. Never lonely! We're really, really nice. But we fail at drama :( and are, sometimes, so nice we bore outsiders :(

Or you could transfer to Wayfinder. I hear they have all the fun!

If you want to quit (though it sounds like you are already stepping away from the edge), be sure to delete your character first and then recreate a new char w/ the same name. That way, you won't be tempted to come back, and you can get on with life.

I quit twice in SWG back in the day, first time after watching episode 3 I reinstalled and got right back to it. Second time, I held an event and gave away all my stuff (including two anti-decay kits), and every time I had an itch to reinstall later, it passed quickly since I knew I could never get back to where I was.

Or just uninstall, but you know you will be back.

I did that before, too bad they added an undelete service.

It's not a better place if you haven't deleted your characters yet, thus you haven't "quit" yet.

Hence the suggested creation of another character w/ the same name. I assume (though I could be wrong, happens a lot actually) that a new char w/ the same name would prevent salvaging of the old one.

Well, I don't really want or not-want you to "stay", but I am generally of the opinion that it's better for people to be happy. Of course, my methods are a little atypical.

The overall message I get from your posts is that you want to feel included and wanted, and you're not sure how to go about this, and frustrated because it hasn't worked. It doesn't help that the advice you're getting is mostly at the wrong level. It's advice on how to have more fun playing the game if you're already enjoying the game and social experience, or generic "do this thing" advice which doesn't help if you don't know how to do that thing.

You certainly sound depressed. Can't diagnose over the Internet, not a qualified professional, blah blah blah, you know the drill. But I have a lot of friends who have had life-long depression, and boy, you sure sound depressed.

In which case, the most useful advice is to at least read up a bit on depression, and how it works, and ways to cope, and probably see some kind of professional for help. It can be worth investigating the various Happy Pills options, but I would never, ever, recommend those as the primary or only approach to dealing with depression.

Past that... Post some times you can be on pretty consistently, and maybe you could arrange a static team (even if it's just a duo) with someone or someones. I know that I tend to enjoy MMOs a lot more when I have a static team going. Of the 20+ characters I nuked when I left WoW, the one I miss most, by far, is the lowbie troll mage I was levelling with a friend.
