Ok folks I am having trouble with Made to Order quest. I am a lvl 17 Artificer going in on Elite and while I can find the Mines I can't target them to disable them. Couple times I have found 2-3 Right close together so its impossible to get over or around. How on earth are you supposed to be able to do this mission when you can't even disarm the Mines? I can find them in my sleep +43 to search. I however cannot target them to disarm? Nor can I get around them... some advice is very much wanted.

thanks

You don't directly disable the mines, you need to find trap boxes which are fairly often past the mines. You can walk around them to find the panel usually but it's a pain and the mines occasionally blow up even though it doesn't seem like you get close enough to trigger them.
Good luck...that quest is annoying!

Trap boxes are on the walls. The model they used was from before they implemented deployable traps, so that's just the point they explode from, not where you interact with em to disable.

So impossible without massive deaths...

Ok, so with the random placement of traps right beside eachother a person is up a certain creek without a paddle. As two traps nearby even with resist elements up fries my butt.

The traps aren't random. All of them can be jumped over without triggering them. Hardly impossible.

And it's not like your search/spot trap skills are useless.. They are quite useful for finding out where they are, so you can far more easily jump over them to find the box.

I, and tons of others have done it at-lvl on elite without anyone who could disable the traps, without deaths.

Here's a video of it being solo'd at-lvl on elite, taking very little trap damage, no deaths:

Its challenging sure, elite is meant to be. Run something lower if you want to just zerg through traps.

It is theoretically possible to skirt the mines, after you search them out to make them visible, and proceed down the hallways until you pop a box. Its not always easy, but usually possible (Keep your arti dog leashed though, no matter how cute hes being, hes not helping by sniffing out the traps with you!)

Jumping failed... will i need scrolls of Jump then? I tried parking dog and hireling and jumping the traps and still set off and fried... it that what I am missing... Not trying to zerg it as i hate dungeon alerts.

The activation area of the mine is larger than it appears. Jump sooner, land further. Or walk around if possible.

I find walking around is easier than jumping over them, but that's just my personal play style I guess. If you just can't seem to get around or over the mines, you may just need to try to enlist a rogue that can evade the traps.

Just be glad you aren't pugging this one, as there's always 1 "uber" character that feels they don't need to listen to your "trap" warnings and plows right into them, killing half the group (last time it was a 104 hp bard that started cussing out the healer hardcore once he died on the first mine).

The mines arent disablable them selves, rather there are trap boxes on the walls - oftenjust past or in the middle of a cluster of mines.

The trick to succesful made to order is to pull the enemies to you, amd make sure the meles stay put.

when the enemies are dead, then proceed to clear the mines - search and then edge around the mines - carefully, slowly. (park your pet, dont use summons)

The mines will trigger EACH TIME some on runs over them, including enemies if they have already been triggered once by a player. this means that one person in the mine feild is much much less dangerous than several.

I can confirm the quest is not broken, My tr group did it at lvl on elite about 2 weeks ago.(i was the trapper)

I can also confirm that it is **** difficult.

If you dont have experience at this quest id recomend learing it first on normal (which as an arti you should eb able to solo) you dont need to complete it if you have a streak going.

Totally not true. I have done this quest at level for bb with a group where I was the artificer, and there is exactly ONE set of mines you can't ease your way through to get to the trap box. It just takes a bit of time, patience, and figuring out the pattern you have to walk through to get to the boxes without blowing yourself up on all but the one where the three mines are arranged in a roughly equilateral triangle around the trap box. Bringing a hireling cleric to res you from that one death will solve the problem. It's designed for evasion, but we arties can do it.
