Speculation time.

The 2d6 and 3d6 elemental damage prefixes and the 1d8/2d8/3d8 bleed prefixes are 'laying the groundwork', so to say, for a future higher-level version of Shroud crafting. (Not necessarily exactly the same system, but something broadly similar).

This wouldn't surprise me, considering how popular shroud was and still is for the power the items and weapons provide.

Having shroud updated to include the epic difficulties and epic loot would bring new life into this raid. That or creating a new raid with a similar crafting system.

I liked elite shroud for the brief time that the blades were working. There were some really good fights in there.

Doubt it. I suspect you'll acquire various runes from new quests. These runes will be able to apply up to three
weapon effects per weapon blank. You won't be able to see what effects the runes apply until you use them. The
runes will be BtC of course. Each tier will have 2-3 useful effects and 15+ which are absolute junk. Enjoy!

Yeah that period was insanely fun.

Then they nerfed the blades but made Harry do much, much more damage (with the fort bypass). Suddenly elite Shroud became a gear check (you must have THIS many HP to be effective) rather than the intense skill tester it was before.

Really miss taking 500hp toons into Elite Shroud and not dying because I was situationally aware enough to avoid blades - now a 500hp toon dies in between heals if they fail a DBF save and cop two melee crits.
