Lost & Found?

Logged one of my old bank toons just now and had mail. This was curious as I couldn't for the life of me recall sending her anything. But getting old and forgetful, I trotted down to the mailbox to investigate.

"Lost and Found" claimed to be returning some Scorched Bracers of mine! I couldn't claim them of course, because I HAD a set on me. Clearly, I hadn't lost them.

Been playing this game for a long time and have never heard of a Lost and Found feature. Any one else ever received such an email? And it *was* in my Confirmed mail, not my Unconfirmed.

If they're going to send me erroneous Lost items, why couldn't it be one of the 7 epic Seals I need?? Those have been Lost for a really long time:D

It's a known problem with exclusive items.

You try to put an exclusive item in your character inventory from the shared bank ( or the bank ) while you already have said exclusive item and it will disappear...

Stormreach Lost & Found will mail it back to you a few hours later.

Happened to me the other day with a Medium Collectibles bag! I had forgot to bank my crafting collectibles bag first before clicking the 'shared bag', only to have the shared bag disappear without a trace!

I got the Lost and Found mail about an hour later.

It's a known problem with exclusive items.

You try to put an exclusive item in your character inventory from the shared bank ( or the bank ) while you already have said exclusive item and it will disappear...

Stormreach Lost & Found will mail it back to you a few hours later.

when those ingredient bags disappear and are returned via lost + found, are those the original bags (with all the content), or just another (but empty) small ingredient bag to replace the loss of a bag?

I had a bag get eaten on me last week. Had a ton on House C slayer area ings, some Lordsmarch Marks and a couple of Seals/Shards and Scrolls.

Got a mail from Lost and Found later on and was pleasantly surprised to get back the bag with its entire contents. (Was decidedly NOT a happy bunny when it got eaten).

It's your bag, with all it's content.
It's returned ( mailed ) to the character that lost it.

This happened to me twice yesterday while transferring collectable bags from the shared bank to inventory...The bags went "PoOf!" and the Mailbox went "dinG!"

Thanks for the information everyone. Glad to hear there is a solution for those of you losing Ingredient bags -- that would be major pain if it happened to me! But I am aware of the problem with bags and so never put bags in Shared banks that I'm not willing to lose:D

I did not know there was this solution. Knowing this might make it easier for me to try real bag transfers now!

Important note : it works only with exclusive bags ( and items ) if you already have the same exclusive bag( or item ) in your inventory.
Any other case of bag becoming vapor is not covered by the Lost & Found.

So if your precious Large, unbound, not exclusive, greensteel ingredient bag go AWOL when playing with the bank, it will probably not be recovered. ( and if you want any chance at it being recovered, immediately fill a bug report as clear as possible as what you did when the bag went AWOL )

Interestingly, the lost and found system has another quirk.

I had a small hireling folder, decided i wanted a medium, purchase the medium folder, empty the small and then since it was bound to character, I threw it away, or so I thought.

A day later, I log back on, and in the mailbox was my small folder again. So now, im confused, how to get rid of this thing that is of no use to my character anymore, and taking up a valuable inventory/bank slot.

I just tried to take a Small Green Bag out of My Shared Bank to transfer Essences to my crafter.

This Small Green Bag also had 18 Epic Tokens in it!

Aaaaaaarrrggh - I forgot to put my crafter's small green bag into her bank first.

Rebooted.

You have Mail!

Yay! Got it back - Within 5 minutes with a Reboot - Everything was inside.

A day later, I log back on, and in the mailbox was my small folder again. So now, im confused, how to get rid of this thing that is of no use to my character anymore, and taking up a valuable inventory/bank slot.

Leave it in your mailbox till the mail expires maybe?

This also happened to me when I tried to pull out a helm of frost to pass to an alt with one already in my inven.
